The writing on the wall what does it mean for adventism

Apparently Belshazzar had reason to hold a lavish feast weather its based on some conquest by his Babylonian army I am not sure.But the drinking went to such heights that the use of Holy vessels taken from the conquest of Jerusalem was the very utensils he now called for. It would seem such a sacrilegious acts would warrant intervention from the most high God of Israel. But from the Daniel 2 where we saw the image Head of Gold move to the silver of Medio Persia we know that this was already foreseen and predicted in vision given Nebuchadnezzar grand father of Belshazzar.

Lessons not learnt

Apparently pride ran in the blood of royal family lineage.And Belshazzar didn't learn from grand dad Nebuchadnezzar.
So whiles the overlords and concubine ( con = with - cabbara = lie down) a woman who co habits (common law wife) just thought i would bring that out.. .anyway these who were entertain took what was holy for the use for the profane while giving thanks and praise to there gods.

Writing on the wall
While all this festivities and revelry was in the making the hand appear to write
MENE MENE TEKEL UPHURSIN
Of course the pretending bunch weather the same in Daniel 2 or 3 we are not sure,most likely not but a new generation of pretenders (sorcerers soothsayers magicians) were called of course to know avail the could not decipher the meaning.
Gods chosen man Daniel was called in to reveal what God had wrote on the wall.. Spiritual things are spiritually discern.

The kingdom was divided and Given to the Medes and Persians (the silver kingdom that is inferior to Babylon the gold kingdom).This was happening just before the time he was rewarding Daniel as promised in verse 7.
The Medes and Persians Lead by Darius with an outstanding battle strategy dam the river further up stream.This lowered the water levels enough for them to walk up into the city without resistance. And so Great Babylon fell that night

Uriah smiths book says that Belshazzar was slain that night on the throne from which hours before he gave the command to bring in the sacred vessels.
The four words stood for
MENE- 50 SHEKELS
MENE=50 SHEKELS
TEKEL= I SHEKEL,
UPHARSIN = 25 SHEKELS…
THE TOTAL EQUALED 126 SHEKELS….
The Bible says in Ezekiel 45:12 , "And the shekel shall be twenty gerahs:…"
THE SHEKEL IS 20 GERAHS:

Exodus 30:13; Leviticus 27:25 ; Numbers 3:47 ; Numbers 18:16 ; Ezekiel 45:12
Numbbers 18:16; Ezekiel 45:12

So then 20 TIMES 126 IS 2520 GERAHS, OR SEVEN TIMES the same seven times that Nebuchadnezzar, Belshazzar grandfather was punished for his pride..only this time its prophetic years.

Daniel understood what the 2520 meant—scattering. He knew it meant God’s judgment on the kingdom. That’s why he said, ‘Your kingdom is weighed and wanting, divided, numbered and finished!’

Note pay attention to the 2520 in terms of scattering (punishment for period of 7 times or 7 x 360 = 2520)
Note God has a gathering time also when the people repent this could be seen in Israels God;s people history when he pronounced that i would punish you Israel 7 times.
The gathering time is also special time for Gods people, spiritual Israel .. This is the time just before the close of probation this is the sealing time when men and women in Gods true church will heed the call for Reform.
The straight testimony will be published and many will respond to the call positively .. This is happening now we are in the gathering time.. Messages of reformation are being preached from many pulpits..How may will respond positively? How many will prepared themselves denying every hindrance for purity? That is left to be seen?

Nebuchadnezzar was told that the tree would be cut down and around the stump would be wrapped bands of IRON and BRASS.

Iron in the Bible represents severe servitude. Some say that IRON represents the Civil Power—but under the Civil Power what do you have? Severe Servitude!

"God had said that His people should be saved, that the yoke He would lay upon them should be light, if they submitted uncomplainingly to His plan. Their servitude was represented by a yoke of wood, which was easily borne; but resistance would be met with corresponding severity, represented by the yoke of iron." 4T 172

Brass in the Bible represents affliction and judgment.

So what is being said here is that during this ‘scattering’ time, the 2520, there would be severe servitude, affliction and judgments, but there would be a time when God would gather them back.

Now look what it says about what would happen in the Gathering Time:

Daniel 4:33-37 "The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' [feathers], and his nails like birds' [claws]. And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion [is] an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom [is] from generation to generation: And all the inhabitants of the earth [are] reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and [among] the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me. Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: And those that walk in pride shall be abase."

DURING THOSE SEVEN TIMES, 2520, NEBUCHADNEZZAR’S REASON WAS TAKEN AWAY. HE COULDN’T SEE CLEARLY. BUT AT THE END OF THAT SEVEN TIMES HE WAS ABLE TO HAVE UNDERSTANDING BACK…

1 HE WAS ENLIGHTENED AT THE END OF THIS 2520 PERIOD.

2. EXCELLENT MAJESTY WAS ADDED TO THE KINGDOM.

3. 1798 REPRESENTS THE END OF THE SCATTERING.

4. IN 1844, TWO THINGS HAPPENED TO THE CHURCH:

A. Wisdom and Understanding increased.

B. Excellent majesty was added.

BRASS AND IRON what does it represent ?:

MOSES: In Deuteronomy Chapter 28 verse 45-58: MOSES WAS REFERRING TO THE BLESSINGS AND THE CURSES THAT WOULD COME FOR BREAKING THE COVENANT.

The power he gives as trampling down the people is a yoke of iron. This power has a strange language and would come from afar, destroy Jerusalem and besiege it…Moses proclaimed the Roman destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD! Moses was teaching the trampling down of Pagan Rome continuing into Papal Rome. Moses understood this and prophesied what would happen from breaking the covenant.
PATRIARCHS AND PROPHETS p. 467.

"By the Spirit of Inspiration, looking far down the ages, Moses pictured the terrible scenes of Israel's final overthrow as a nation, and the destruction of Jerusalem by the armies of Rome: "The Lord shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand; a nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor show favor to the young." {PP 467.1}

"The utter wasting of the land and the horrible suffering of the people during the siege of Jerusalem under Titus centuries later, were vividly portrayed: "He shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed. . . . And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land. . . .

Thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the Lord thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee." "The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, . . . and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates." {PP 467.2}

PART ONE SUMMARY:

We have seen the basic structure of this prophecy of the 7 Times. The Word of God just ties things together and how cryptically it has all been laid out in the Word. Mene, Mene, Tekle, Upharsin, something not understood for many years is made plain to us.

The deeper meaning of the story of Nebuchadnezzar is brought together now. We now see BOTH the Scattering and Gathering brought together. This has been an increase in knowledge taking place,the understanding has been made plain.

We are clearly in the very end time where we can start understanding clearly the role of the 144,000 in the last events of this world’s history.

Leodecia a celebration church

I have noticed over the years how the churches have slowly morphed into a celebration church. WE celebrate everything on the sabbath .. I mean everything .. Valentines,Christmas,Birthdays,Fathers day and Mothers day, the works...
Before you label me as a scrooge hear me out on this one..
I wonder if God is pleased with this.. As good as it is and i insist we must show our appreciation for all our members in the church . Such is the flavor of a loving church..
Its noticeable somehow that some of these celebrations go overboard and counter to the meaning of worship.
What is worship about?
Who are we worshiping ?
In all the above mentioned celebrations. I have noticed gradually the shift moving away from God The Creator on the sabbath during these sessions... The focus shifts from the One sustainer. the giver of life , the protector . and the divine
of which Moses describe as all merciful all loving just by a passing glimpse... The one whose face Jesus told EG white we cannot look at an live..
I wonder if we understand the God who can make us mortal man disintegrate like specks of dust at a thought.
What is man that man art mindful of him or the son of man that thou visitest Him.
Is this the same God whom Cherubims bow hiding their faces .
Is this the same God that angels bow in his presence saying Holy Holy Holy.
So not that we celebrate almost anything on the Sabbath ,having our own pleasure the praise and attentions goes to whom? Its not to God its to man...
Some may say well we praise God and appreciate the people in the congregation.. .I have not seen this in The gospel Matthew Mark Luke or John or for that matter anywhere in the Bible..

Are we running a social club ? Have the church lost its focus in trying to be more "entertaining"
Where is the Sabbath school study time..
Most times the lesson is hurried on and Superintendents ring bells buzzers whistles to curtail over-extensions of the enthusiasm generated in Sabbath school lesson Study..

I prayer that programing has not taken presidents over feeding the flock..
Ellen white says character is not developed in a crisis. Preparations for trouble times must be done way in advance. Sabbath school is the collective time to do so via arming ourselves with Word..
Will we be able to stand in the time of trouble.. Or is the time a trouble a long way off maybe not in me and your lifetime..
Lord help us to see the light..
Help us to stay focus.

The Outpouring of the Spirit

 Christ, just before His ascension, told His disciples to wait

"And, behold, I send the promise of My Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high." Luke 24:49.

2. With what did He say they would be baptized?
"Ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence." Acts 1:5.

NOTE.-John the Baptist had foretold this baptism. He said: "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but He that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire." Matt. 3:11.

3It was in preparation for  ?
"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." Acts 1:8.

4. The Word the Deciples preached had a powerful effect

"Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said . . . Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. . . . Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls." Acts 2:37-41.   "And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; . . . and believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women." Acts 5:12-14.   "And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith." Acts 6:7.

5. How did persecution affect the preaching of the gospel?
"And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. . . . Therefore they that were scattered abroad went everywhere preaching the word." Acts 8:1-4.

NOTE.-"Persecution has only had a tendency to extend and establish the faith which it was designed to destroy. . . . There is no lesson which men have been so slow to learn as that to oppose and persecute men is the very way to confirm them in their opinions, and to spread their doctrines."-Dr. Albert Barnes, on Acts 4:4.

6. Would there be a repeat of this outpouring of the Spirit?
"Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord." Acts 3:19.

7. What event does he speak of as immediately following these times of refreshing?
"And He shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: whom the heaven must receive [Syriac, retain] until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began." Verses 20,21.

NOTE.-From this it seems evident that we may look for another outpouring of the Spirit for a final proclamation of the gospel to all the world just before Christ's second advent and the restitution of all things.

8. What prophecy was fulfilled in the Pentecostal outpouring of the Spirit in the time of the apostles?
"But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said, . . . These are not drunken, as ye suppose, . . . but this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: and on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of My Spirit, and they shall prophesy." Acts 2:14-18. See Joel 2:28,29.

Page 197

9. What expressions in the prophecy of Joel seem to imply a double fulfillment of this outpouring of the Spirit?
"Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for He hath given you the former rain moderately, and He will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month." Joel 2:23.  See also Hosea 6:3.

NOTE.-In Palestine the early rains prepare the soil for the seed sowing, and the latter rains ripen the grain for the harvest. So the early outpouring of the Spirit prepared the world for the extensive sowing of the gospel seed, and the final outpouring will come to ripen the golden grain for the harvest of the earth, which Christ says is "the end of the world." Matt. 13:37-39; Rev. 14:14,15.

10. For what are we told to pray at this time?
"Ask ye of the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain; so the Lord shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain to everyone grass in the field." Zech. 10:1.

NOTE.-Before the apostles received the baptism of the Spirit in the early rain on the day of Pentecost, they all "continued with one accord in prayer and supplication." Acts 1:14. During this time they confessed their faults, put away their differences, ceased their selfish ambitions and contentions for place and power, so that when the time for the outpouring came, "they were all with one accord in one place," ready for its reception. To be prepared for the final outpouring of the Spirit, all sin and selfish ambition must again be put away, and a like work of grace wrought upon the hearts of God's people.

11. How is the closing work of the gospel under the out pouring of the Spirit described by the revelator?
"After these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory." Rev. 18:1.

12. What does this angel say?
"And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird." Verse 2.

NOTE.-The religious world will then be in much the same condition as was the Jewish nation after it had rejected Christ at His first advent. See 2 Tim. 3:1-5

 13. What did Peter on the day of Pentecost tell his hearers to do?

"And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation." Acts 2:40.

14. What similar call and appeal will be made under the final outpouring of the Spirit?
"And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities." Rev. 18:4,5.

NOTES.-A great work will be accomplished in a short time under the final outpouring of the Spirit. Many voices all over the earth will sound the warning cry. Signs and wonders will be wrought by the believers, and, as at Pentecost, thousands will be converted in a day.
Those who fail to heed this final gospel call, like the unbelieving Jews, will be doomed to destruction. The seven last plagues will overtake them, as war, famine, death, and destruction overtook the Jews, who, not believing in Christ, failed to heed His call to flee, and shut themselves up in Jerusalem to their doom. Those who heed the call, and separate themselves from sin and from sinners, will be saved.

Come, Holy Spirit, come,
Let Thy bright beams arise,
Dispel the sorrow from our minds,
The darkness from our eyes.

Convince us all of sin,
Then lead to Jesus' blood,
And to our wondering view reveal
The mercies of our God.

Revive our drooping faith,
Our doubts and fears remove,
And kindle in our breasts the flame
Of never-dying love.

'Tis Thine to cleanse the heart,
To sanctify the soul,
To pour fresh life in every part,
And new-create the whole.

Come, Holy Spirit, come,
Our minds from bondage free;
Then shall we know, and praise, and love
The Father, Son, and Thee.

The Bible Prophecy is built on simple observable Rules

1 .History is repetitive

a. Ecclesiastes 1:9 “The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. 10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.”

The things which have happened in the past are the things transpiring right now.

b. Ecclesiastes 3:15 “That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.”

2. It is an important thing for us to understand our history.

Ecclesiastes 1:11 “There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remem-brance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.”

In other words, God’s people forget what happens in the past. And be-cause we forget what happened in the past and we don’t understand how God lays out these principles, we have these many divergent views of prophecy. Many of these divergent views come from individuals that are highly respected, but they go against Biblical principle. Here what 1 Cor 10 says

1 Corinthians 10:11 “Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

3 .Future prophecies could be understood

That which is written in the past is written as types; shadows of that which is the true which is now. So we can build on the principle that all of Bible prophecy from Genesis up to our point in time was really written for us at the end of the world and it makes Bible prophecy firm. If you can establish these histories, you can’t be moved. Look at Romans 15:4:

Romans 15:4 “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”

We can learn from the past and this is very important. When you understand how God has led in the past, you are not upset and un-easy about the times in which we are now living, because we understand how God always works ,you live with confidence. watching the signs fulfill . Look at Job 11:

Job 11:6 “And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double (duplicated) to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.”

The secrets of God are the prophecies, that which is in the future and that which is in the past. The prophecies are duplicate to that which is. Turn to Amos 3:7:

Amos 3:7 “Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.”

When Daniel was talking to Nebuchadnezzar in chapter 2 and referring to this dream the king had, he referred to it as the ‘secrets’. Secret things are prophecies and so when you look at prophecy and you look at where we are now—they are perfectly aligned; duplicated over and over again.

One more verse :

Revelation 1:19 “Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;”

Write the things that are in the past; the things that are happening now; and the things that will be in the future. Why? Because they mimic each other time and time again–so that is the law of historical repetition. Many individuals teach the principle that you can not understand Bible prophecy until it’s fulfilled. Some people say that it is foolish for us to try to look at things that haven’t been fulfilled in Bible Prophecy to try and understand them, we should just stick to the things that we know and when the things are fulfilled then we will have a correct understanding. I want you to understand that this is dangerous—especially where we are today! It is dangerous to wait for our under-standing. Look at John 16:13.

John 16:13 “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”

So under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit we can understand things to come, and Sister White employs this principle. Notice what she says:

“The events of the future will be discerned by prophecy, and will be un-derstood .” {1888 materials 1055.7}

4. The first and the last principle

It is important for us to understand that if we are guided by the Spirit, the things that have not yet taken place will be understood, and we can understand them, if we employ the principle of historical repetition. If it happens in history once and you can show it happens again—it’s established. It will always be that way, so that the man or woman of God, who is studying the Bible, can not be in error. God makes sure that we have these principles so we stay on the strait and narrow path. Look at Revelation 1 and we’ll see another principle. We saw the Law of Historical Repetition; we saw the principle that we can understand future events by the guidance of the Spirit; and here’s a principle that’s called the End from the Beginning, a phrase I take from the Bible, you could also title it ‘the First and the Last’. Jesus speaking to John says:

• Revelation 1:8 “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”

• Revelation 1:11 “Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last:”

Revelation 1:17 “And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:”

Something about understanding that God is the First and the Last can give us comfort. In prophecy, God shows the End from the Beginning; or He shows the First from the Last. We’ve seen this already—the principle of Ephesus, the church of Christ and the disciples; that was the beginning of Christianity—but we saw that that platform repeats in Laodicea—the end of Christianity.

We saw it in Revelation 10; the beginning of Adventism describes the end of Adventism. The principle ofFirst and Last; and when you understand these principles that are based on God’s character—you can’t be moved.

5. The law of Triple application observed in Prophesy

a. This law is simple even a child can follow prophecy..the law is 1 + 2= 3

Its shown in the Bible many times.. Take for example the Second Angel’s message—when it says ‘Babylon the Great is fallen, is fallen’ Why does it say it twice.. Did Babylon fall twice? How many falls of Babylon were there in History? There were two—you look at the first fall at Bel-shazzar’s feast. And the second fall at 1798,when the Papal rome receive the deadly wound , you take those two histories and they show you how modern Babylon will fall at the end of the world. One history plus two histories equal the third.

b. you have what’s called the 3 woes—the fifth, the sixth and the seventh trumpet. In the Bible it gives you the description of the first woe; it gives a description of the second woe; but when it comes to the third woe—it gives a description, but more vague than the first two. Jesus expects us to understand that the first plus the second equals the third. And we can prove it happened in Sept 11 2001, It’s a long separate study but briefly.

1st woe- Islam strike armies of Rome-surprise attack- without destroying –Mohamed-July 27th –July 27 1449

2nd woe - Islam strike armies of Rome- surprise attack with gun powder- destroying- Ottoman Turks - July 27- 1449- August 11,1840

Using the 1+2 =3 principle we can verified the third woe if it happens or predict it.

3rd woe- Islam strikes armies of Rome (US the muscle of Rome)- using surprise attack/violent attackt with explosives –beginning Sept 11,2001.

Islam teaches that these woes in history is the 1st 2nd and 3rd Great Jihads .. they teach only three Jihads

There‘s another one we can employ; how many Romes are there in Bible Prophecy? Three; you have Pagan Rome; Papal Rome which received a deadly wound; and you have modern Rome at the end of the world. The way Pagan Rome came into power, plus the way Papal Rome came into power, gives you an understanding how modern Rome at the end of the world comes into power.

One plus Two equals Three; very simple principles.

6. Daniel and Revelation go together.

At Daniel and Revelation seminars, normally what is taught is that Daniel is laid down, Daniel 2; 7; 8; 9 and so forth; and then they jump into Revelation and they might deal with Revelation 12 and 13. It’s taught in that type of manner but it’s never shown us how they go together—and that’s how Bible Prophecy is supposed to be taught. Let me read a few state-ments from the pen of inspiration:

“The things revealed to Daniel were afterward complemented by the reve-lation made to John on the Isle of Patmos. These two books should be carefully studied.” {TM 114.6}

complemented’ means they go together they complete each other like a marriage J

which means to bring to perfection.

Some statement:

“As we near the close of this world's history, the prophecies recorded by Daniel demand our special attention, as they relate to the very time in which we are living. With them should be linked the teachings of the last book of the New Testament Scriptures.” {PK 547.2}

“The study of the Revelation directs the mind to the prophecies of Daniel, and both present most important instruction, given of God to men, concerning events to take place at the close of this world's history.” {GC 341.3}

“Those who become confused in their understanding of the Word, who fail to see the meaning of antichrist, will surely place themselves on the side of anti-christ. There is no time now for us to assimilate with the world. Daniel is standing in his lot and in his place. The prophecies of Daniel and of John are to be un-derstood. They interpret each other. They give to the world truths which every one should understand. These prophecies are to be witnesses in the world. By their fulfillment in these last days they will explain themselves.” {7Bible Commentary 949.6}

Daniel and Revelation interpret each other. Now in the way that they usu-ally teach prophecy, have you heard anyone use Revelation to interpret Daniel? Usually they will use Daniel to give you an understanding in Revelation—but never vice versa; BUT they go together! They interpret each other and it is impor-tant—and the reason why it is important to understand these things is because men come to their own conclusions on Bible prophecy by misapplying or not us-ing these principles stated above. They’ll bring in elements of Bible prophecy that are not there. They’ll talk about key players in the end time movements that prophecy doesn’t mention or refer to. They won’t look at history and see how things are laid out in history—so when it comes to the end of the world they have their own spin on things. But the Bible gives us understanding

7. The law of prophetic subjection …

Don’t be alarm by these terms they are very easy to understand 2 Peter 1:19:

2 Peter 1:19 “We have also a more sure word of prophecy;

Now let’s pause here a moment: why does Peter at this particular point say ‘we have a more SURE WORD of prophecy’? Look a few verses up at verse 16:

• 2 Peter 1:16 “For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.”

They were there , they saw what happened, the experience everything they touch Him he was real they saw his wounds ,they saw him ascent to heaven . Jesus said at that time to them, “Don’t tell any man what has happened here until I am glorified.” Now Jesus is in heaven, so Peter begins to write, “I saw with my eyes these things on the mountain; I heard with my ears the things that came from heaven; I was able to handle the Lord—I was able to feel Him; my senses were clearly aroused,” But then he says in verse 19; that we have a More Sure Word of Prophecy.

Prophecy is more sure than what you can see with your eyes; what you can hear with your ears; what you can handle with your hands. We have to have our faith based on prophecy,which is the revelation of Jesus Chirst.

• 2 Peter 1:19 “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:”

Now who is the Day-star? Jesus Christ; he’s saying that if you take heed to prophecy—Jesus will arise in your hearts. That is very important to understand but notice what he says that is doubly important:

• 20 “Knowing this first,”

You see the devil knows that with a correct application of prophecy, Jesus will arise in your heart. You will have a triumphant life experience—he knows it. So he wants to get men who will not use particular principles. So Peter says here; ‘Knowing this first’.

• 20 “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.”

The Bible employs the principle that the Spirit of the prophets is subject to the prophets. In other words, what Daniel speaks of has to coincide with what Moses speaks of and what Isaiah speaks of and Jeremiah—it’s called the Law of Prophetic subjection—They all tell the same story.

• 21 “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”

That phrase ‘in old time’ in the Greek means ‘at any time’; so prophecy of the scripture came not at any time by the will of man but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. So what if I come to you and I’m teaching you prophecy—but it’s not based on the principles of God’s Word and I’m bringing in players that really don’t belong there in the sequence—I’m giving you my own private interpretation. Am I led of God? Can I consider myself a holy man of God speaking as I am moved by the Holy Ghost? No I can’t. Prophecy is clear cut, and Paul employs a phrase showing that prophecy is likened unto the Gospel and if any man teaches you another Gospel—the Bible says, ‘Let him be ac-cursed’.

Continuing on with 2 Peter we go to chapter 2:

2 Peter 2:1 “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their perni-cious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.”

Many people go after teachers who might be powerful—they might preach a good word, but we as students of Prophecy need to understand the principles so we know if they are teaching it correctly or not.

When God's People dont listen they suffer the same faith as Israel of old ( out of the Cities)

EZEKIEL 12
1 The word of the LORD also came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house.
3 Therefore, thou son of man, prepare thee stuff for removing, and remove by day in their sight; and thou shalt remove from thy place to another place in their sight: it may be they will consider, though they be a rebellious house.
4 Then shalt thou bring forth thy stuff by day in their sight, as stuff for removing: and thou shalt go forth at even in their sight, as they that go forth into captivity.
5 Dig thou through the wall in their sight, and carry out thereby.
6 In their sight shalt thou bear it upon thy shoulders, and carry it forth in the twilight: thou shalt cover thy face, that thou see not the ground: for I have set thee for a sign unto the house of Israel.
7 And I did so as I was commanded: I brought forth my stuff by day, as stuff for captivity, and in the even I digged through the wall with mine hand; I brought it forth in the twilight, and I bore it upon my shoulder in their sight.
8 And in the morning came the word of the LORD unto me, saying,
9 Son of man, hath not the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said unto thee, What doest thou?
10 Say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; This burden concerneth the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel that are among them.
11 Say, I am your sign: like as I have done, so shall it be done unto them: they shall remove and go into captivity.
12 And the prince that is among them shall bear upon his shoulder in the twilight, and shall go forth: they shall dig through the wall to carry out thereby: he shall cover his face, that he see not the ground with his eyes.
13 My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare: and I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there.
14 And I will scatter toward every wind all that are about him to help him, and all his bands; and I will draw out the sword after them.
15 And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall scatter them among the nations, and disperse them in the countries.
16 But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the heathen whither they come; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
17 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
18 Son of man, eat thy bread with quaking, and drink thy water with trembling and with carefulness;
19 And say unto the people of the land, Thus saith the Lord GOD of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and of the land of Israel; They shall eat their bread with carefulness, and drink their water with astonishment, that her land may be desolate from all that is therein, because of the violence of all them that dwell therein.
20 And the cities that are inhabited shall be laid waste, and the land shall be desolate; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
21 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
22 Son of man, what is that proverb that ye have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision faileth?
23 Tell them therefore, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel; but say unto them, The days are at hand, and the effect of every vision.
24 For there shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.
25 For I am the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord GOD.
26 Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
27 Son of man, behold, they of the house of Israel say, The vision that he seeth is for many days to come , and he prophesieth of the times that are far off.
28 Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord GOD.

It will be too late

Some of us are waiting for something to happen before we get on board. We are watching the news, so we can see something happen so we can jump on board and start getting our life together. Such people are going to be sadly disappointed. Character is not built in a crisis, it is only revealed.
When the Sunday Law hits, we can’t jump from island to island trying to get away from it, it’s going to cover the world. The final events will be rapid. If you know it, and your character is not settled in the pure word of prophecy, you are lost—simple and plain. You are lost if you don’t accept the prophetic word as the foundation of your faith.
We know John as John the Revelator, we turn to the book of Revelation and we know it was written by John. But in every Bible, God made sure that we wouldn’t misunderstand this point. So read the title in the book of Revelation:
Revelation 1:1 “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: 2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.”
It’s the Revelation of Jesus Christ to John; the things that are written in the Revelation are a Revelation of Jesus Christ. He’s the one that revealed it, and it’s the Revelation of Jesus Christ, not from–the book of Revelation is about Him, it’s about Jesus and if we can’t see Jesus there, we are not seeing it aright. There’s no way we are comprehending with John. There is no way we are understanding Prophecy if we can’t see Jesus there. Paul put it this way:

2 Corinthians 4:3 “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:”
If we can’t see it, we’re not on the right road; but there is time; there is a little window of time where we can make our calling and election sure. You can back up that winding road you’ve been on for years and get on the strait and narrow. There’s time, but it is a short time.

Are you aware we are close to the end.

Quote :"The events connected with the close of probation and the work of preparation for the time of trouble, are clearly presented. But multitudes have no more understanding of these important truths than if they had never been revealed. Satan watches to catch away every impression that would make them wise unto salvation, and the time of trouble will find them unready."

The Great Controversy (1911), page 594, paragraph 1

Adventism seem to be lost as to what time we are living in. This chart will remind us all as to where we are and why we are in the sealing time. Click here for a larger view.

Click here for another diagram which speaks directly to Seventh Day Adventism

all over we are hearing of programs ,good programs  but none or little seem to focus on the end time events.
Why aren't our people being prepared for what is to come.
It is at the door. Or is it that our leaders are not even aware where we are in the delineation of prophetic history?

Is the light of the Remnant still burning look at the words

Let every lamp be burning bright,
The darkest hour is nearing;
The darkest hour of earth’s long night,
Before the Lord’s appearing.

Refrain

Then trim your lamps, my brethren dear,
Then trim your lamps with godly fear;
The Master’s coming draweth near,
Let every lamp be burning.

Though thousands calmly slumber on,
The last great message spurning,
We’ll rest our living faith upon
His promise of returning.

Refrain

His Word our lamp, His truth our guide,
We cannot be mistaken;
Though dangers rise on every side,
We shall not be forsaken.

Refrain

Then let good works with faith appear,
To help the world around us;
Obedience brings the blessing near
When faith has firmly bound us.

This is truly a 3 angel message song. Is it in the new Hymnal?

Summer time is Harvest time.

1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Many in adventism are basking in the glory of the truth.
However the self same individuals have not recognized that or even understand much of the allegories and parables in the New Testament applies directly to spiritual Israel.

The summer is nigh the harvest is almost ended..
Those who have not been found in the Vine ,those who have bore no fruit will be cast out.
The same is applied to the tears they shall all be gathered burned for they are of no use.
Many deny the spirit of prophecy ,some not outwardly but in principle many deny.
Many deny the self same spirit that guides us into understanding prophecy.And when the hear something that sounds new fail to check it out not even knowing it was something that the pioneers understood and preached .
The church the organisation has stepped off the platform and many members when hearing aged old prophetic utterances because it sounds,different from the smooth sermons,they fail to respond.
Therefor the Holy spirit cannot awaken there consciences ,they do not realise the solemnity of the time we are living in. Many refuse to believe we are living on borrowed time and so they live irresponsibly not knowing that probation is about to close.
Wakeup Remnant People!

May God have mercies on us.
