Why is our church celebrating Christ'S mass.

Why are we, Gods remnant, Spiritual Israel following the ensamples of the children of Amon, Moab and Egypt and going after other gods?

Do we now worship Mitre, and Dionysus , Baal ,The God of sex and fertility Yule key gods in the Christianized pagan festivals.

Do we understand what we are doing?

Jeremiah 10:3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

Is this the best time for our church to recognise Christ birth ?
Is culture more indelible than the cross.
Must we celebrate the Roman church baptised pagan festivals?

Its time for us to get out of the this stupor and stop drinking Babylon's wine Isaiah 28:7,8.

For this is the problem.

Isaiah 56:7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called a house of prayer for all people.
8 The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.
9 All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, yea , all ye beasts in the forest.
10 His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.
11 Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.
12 Come ye, say they , I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and tomorrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.

There is a few in Israel who would are not bowing to other gods.
A residue
Isaiah 28:5 In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people,

If Baal be God serve him and if God be God then serve him.

It is vividly clear to me that the process of sifting and shaking is taking place at this time.
Lines have been drawn in the sand and those standing for truth have taken one side and others have been deluded by the message of peace and safety.
Souls are on the verge of deciding their eternal destinies and messages of truth are the tool of separating the two classes of men/women.

An Earnest Appeal to Church Leaders

Don't Let It Happen

This will be the last time that in my present role I shall stand before the world leaders
of my church, your church, our church, and I have a few words to leave with you.
I take my thoughts from something that Elder and Mrs. Ralph Neall have written
describing how typically a sect evolves into a church. They say a sect is often begun
by a charismatic leader with tremendous drive and commitment, and that it arises as a
protest against worldliness and formalism in a church. It is generally embraced by the poor. The rich would lose too much by joining it, since it is unpopular, despised, and persecuted by society in general. It has definite beliefs firmly held by zealous members. Each member makes a personal decision to join it and knows what he believes. There is little organization or property, and there are few buildings. The group has strict standards and controls on behavior. Preachers, often without education, arise by inner compulsion. There is little concern about public relations. And then it passes on to the second generation. With growth there comes a need for organization and buildings. As a result of industry and frugality, members become prosperous. As prosperity increases, persecution begins to wane. Children born into the movement do not have to make personal decisions to join it. They do not necessarily know what they believe. They do not need to hammer out their own positions. These have been worked out for them. Preachers arise more by selection and by apprenticeship to older workers than by direct inner compulsion.
In the third generation, organization develops and institutions are established. The need is seen for schools to pass on the faith of the fathers. Colleges are established. Members have to be exhorted to live up to the standards, while at the same time the standards of membership are being lowered. The group becomes lax about
disfellowshipping nonpracticing members. Missionary zeal cools off. There is more
concern over public relations. Leaders study methods of propagating their faith,
sometimes employing extrinsic rewards as motivation for service by members. Youth
question why they are different from others, and intermarry with those not of their
faith. In the fourth generation there is much machinery; the number of administrators increases while the number of workers at the grass roots becomes proportionately less. Great church councils are held to define doctrine. More schools, universities, and seminaries are established. These go to the world for accreditation and tend to become secularized. There is a reexamination of positions and modernizing of methods. Attention is given to contemporary culture, with an interest in the arts: music, architecture, literature. The movement seeks to become
society by becoming involved in popular causes. Services become formal. The group
enjoys complete acceptance by the world. The sect has become a church!
Brethren and sisters, this must never happen to the Seventh-day Adventist Church!
This will not happen to the Seventh-day Adventist Church. This is not just another
church—it is God’s church!
But you are the men and women sitting in this sanctuary this morning on whom God is
counting to assure that it does not happen.
Already, brethren and sisters, there are subtle forces that are beginning to stir.
Regrettably there are those in the church who belittle the inspiration of the Bible, who scorn the first 11 chapters of Genesis, who question the Spirit of Prophecy’s short chronology of the earth, and who subtly and not so subtly attack the Spirit of Prophecy. There are some who point to the Reformers and contemporary theologians as a source and the norm for Seventh-day Adventist doctrine. There are those who allegedly are tired of the hackneyed phrases of Adventism. There are those who wish to forget the standards of the church we love. There are those who covet and would court the favor of the evangelicals; those who would throw off the mantle of a peculiar people; and those who would go the way of the secular, materialistic world. Fellow leaders, beloved brethren and sisters—don’t let it happen! I appeal to you as earnestly as I know how this morning—don’t let it happen! I appeal to Andrews University, to the Seminary, to Loma Linda University—don’t let it happen! We are not Seventh-day Anglicans, not Seventh-day Lutherans—we are Seventh-day Adventists! This is God’s last church with God’s last message.
You are the men and women, the leaders, whom God is counting on to keep the
Seventh-day Adventist Church God’s remnant church, the church God has destined to
triumph! The servant of the Lord says, “Fearful perils are before those who bear responsibilities in the Lord’s work—perils the thought of which makes me tremble” (Selected Messages, bk. 2, p. 391). And in Ezekiel 22:30 we read, “I looked for a man among them who could build a barricade, who could stand before Me in the breach to defend the land from ruin” (NEB).
I believe this morning, fellow leaders, that God is looking for men and women, intrepid leaders, men and women who love God’s church and God’s truth more than they love their lives, to see that this church under God goes through to the kingdom. The task ahead of us is not going to be easy. If I understand the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy aright this morning, ahead lies a time of trouble, a time of challenge such as this church and this world have never before known.
The servant of the Lord tells us: “The enemy of souls has sought to bring in the
supposition that a great reformation was to take place among Seventh-day Adventists,
and that this reformation would consist in giving up the doctrines which stand as the
pillars of our faith, and engaging in a process of reorganization. Were this reformation to take place, what would result? The principles of truth that God in His wisdom has given to the remnant church, would be discarded. Our religion would be changed. The fundamental principles that have sustained the work for the last fifty years would be accounted as error. A new organization would be established. Books of a new order would be written. A system of intellectual philosophy would be introduced. The founders of this system would go into the cities, and do a wonderful work. The Sabbath of course, would be lightly regarded, as also the God Who created it. Nothing would be allowed to stand in the way of the new movement. The leaders would teach that virtue is better than vice, but God being removed, they would place their dependence on human power, which, without God, is worthless” (Selected Messages, bk. 1, pp. 204,
205).
The Seventh-day Adventist Church had its alpha years ago. You and I are the leaders
who will face the omega that will be of the same subtle, devilish origin. Its effect will be more devastating than the alpha. Brethren, I beg of you, study, know what is ahead, then with God’s help prepare your people to meet it!
“God calls for men who are prepared to meet emergencies, men who in a crisis will not
be found standing on the wrong side” (Review and Herald, November 5, 1903).
“We are pressing on to the final conflict, and this is no time for compromise. It is no time to hide your colors. When the battle wages sore, let no one turn traitor. It is no time to lay down or conceal our weapons, and give Satan the advantage in the
warfare” (Review and Herald, December 6, 1892).
And then I call attention to a vision the Lord’s servant had, in which she saw a ship
heading toward an iceberg. She said: “There, towering high above the ship, was a
gigantic iceberg. An authoritative voice cried out, ‘Meet it!’ There was not a moment’s hesitation. It was a time for instant action. The engineer put on full steam, and the man at the wheel steered the ship straight into the iceberg. With a crash she struck the ice. There was a fearful shock, and the iceberg broke into many pieces, falling with a noise like thunder to the deck. The passengers were violently shaken by the force of the collision, but no lives were lost. The vessel was injured, but not beyond repair. She rebounded from the contact, trembling from stem to stern, like a living creature. Then she moved forward on her way.
“Well I knew the meaning of this representation. I had my orders. I had heard the
words, like a voice from our Captain, ‘Meet it!’ I knew what my duty was, and that
there was not a moment to lose. The time for decided action had come. I must without
delay obey the command, ‘Meet it!’” (Selected Messages, bk. 1, pp. 205, 206).
Fellow leaders, it may be that in the not too distant future you will have to meet it. I pray God will give you grace and courage and wisdom.
Finally, “What a wonderful thought it is that the great controversy is nearing its end! In the closing work we shall meet with perils that we know not how to deal with; but let us not forget that the three great powers of Heaven are working, that a divine hand is on the wheel, and that God will bring His purposes to pass. He will gather from the world a people who will serve Him in righteousness” (Selected Messages, bk. 2, p.
391).
What a wonderful assurance we have this morning, brethren and sisters, that you and I
are in God’s work. This work is not dependent on any man; it is dependent on our
relationship with Him. There is only one way for us to face the future, and that is at the foot of the cross. A church with its eyes upon the Man of Calvary will never walk into apostasy.
Thank you, brethren and sisters, for giving me the privilege of serving you for the past 45 years, and may God bless every one of you.

The Last Great Contest – Worship

There is real controversy in our church over the subject of worship. We hear rumblings of how we need to be more relevant in our style of worship, that we must do all we can to attract and keep our youth by having a style of worship that will appeal to them. We are told that if we cater to the unconverted, we will draw them by the type of worship service that will make them feel comfortable.

The subject of worship in the Bible begins with Genesis and ends in Revelation. Actually, the subject of whom to worship was contested in heaven, when Lucifer desired to be like the Most High. After his fall, Lucifer continued his controversy here on Earth.

The definition of worship from the American Heritage Dictionary is, “The reverent love and allegiance accorded a deity, idol, or sacred object. A set of ceremonies, prayers, or other religious forms by which this love is expressed. Ardent, humble devotion.”

Lucifer coveted the worship and adoration of the angels and of the created beings. He indulged in the desire for self-exaltation. Ezekiel 28:7 tells us that his heart was lifted up because of his beauty and his brightness. We are also told that he said in his heart, “I will exalt my throne above the stars of God…I will be like the Most High” (Isaiah 14:13-14).

Page 36 of Patriarchs and Prophets says, “Instead of seeking to make God supreme in the affections and allegiance of all created beings, it was his endeavor to secure their service and loyalty to himself.” This continues to be his aim and goal even after losing the war in heaven and being cast down to Earth.

We see Satan’s continued desire for supremacy and reverence by his attack on Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. By partaking of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, Adam and Eve fell and forever placed humankind in an environment where Satan could tempt and harass them. For six thousand years the struggle has continued. There are only two sides to choose from, now, just as there were then. Whom will we reverence and worship— our Creator God or the imposter, Satan?

The people in Noah’s day also faced the challenge of deciding to whom they would yield their allegiance. “Men put God out of their knowledge and worshiped the creatures of their own imagination; and as the result, they became more and more debased” (Patriarchs and Prophets, 91). Because the people chose not to worship the Creator God, they suffered the destruction of the Flood that God sent.

Choose you this day whom ye will serve
The Bible is full of examples of people having to make the choice as to whom they would worship and obey. Abraham made the choice to worship the Creator God rather than the gods of the nations around him. Abraham was instructed to move away from his kindred to a place that God would show him. The Bible tells us that Abraham went, not knowing where he was going. God knew that for Abraham to remain in his home environment would be too great a risk for him. Perhaps there is a lesson here for us to learn.

You will recall the story of the prophet Daniel’s faithfulness to the worship of God even though it took him to the lion’s den. Then there were his three friends who faced the fiery furnace because of their decision to worship God alone. The story of Elijah on Mount Carmel also speaks to us of the importance of making the right choice as to whom we will worship. All through the history of the Bible, men and women have been faced with this decision.

There is however, one particular Bible story that I find very intriguing. This is the story of the children of Israel just before they reached the Promised Land and were preparing to enter in. Israel was camped in a beautiful plain, surrounded by tropical plants and beautiful trees. The climate was ideal and the children of Israel found this to be an agreeable retreat while they waited for Moses, who was busy preparing for the occupation of Canaan.

Idle time is not conducive to spiritual growth and this was the case with the children of Israel. They were in a condition of outward ease and indulgence. In addition, they neglected prayer and cherished a spirit of self-confidence.

On every side of this plain, with its attractive surroundings, were places noted for idolatry and extravagance. These surroundings, which at first were repugnant to the Israelites, soon exerted a polluting influence on them. Their minds and eyes became familiar with the vile and the idolatrous. Slowly they began to depart from God. At first, the Israelites had little to do with their Midian neighbors. But soon the Midianite women began making visits to the camp.

Balaam, a man the Israelites considered to be a prophet of God, also made friendly overtures to God’s people. He had been appointed by the king of Moab to induce the Israelites to attend a grand festival in honor of their gods. Balaam had little difficulty in persuading the Israelites to come and join in the festive occasion. Great numbers of the people joined him in witnessing the celebration. When they ventured on Satan’s territory, his devices ensnared them.

It didn’t take much to cause the people of God to cast off their allegiance to Jehovah. The music, dancing, feasting, drinking of wine, and beautiful women soon had them infatuated. The Spirit of Prophecy tells us that the rulers and the leading men of Israel were among the first to transgress. They led the way for multitudes to apostatize and join themselves to the worship of Baal.

By the time Moses realized what was happening to God’s people, many of them were beginning to observe the heathen rites right in the camp of Israel. The aged leader was filled with indignation. God’s wrath was poured out by a terrible pestilence that broke out in the camp, killing tens of thousands of the guilty people.

Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall (1 Corinthians 10:11-12).

As we approach the close of time, as the people of God stand upon the borders of the heavenly Canaan, Satan will, as of old, redouble his efforts to prevent them from entering the goodly land. He lays his snares for every soul. It is not the ignorant and the uncultured merely that need to be guarded; he will prepare his temptations for those in the highest positions, in the most holy office; if he can lead them to pollute their souls, he can, through them, destroy many. And he employs the same agents now as he employed three thousand years ago. By worldly friendships, by the charms of beauty, by pleasure seeking, mirth, feasting, or the wine cup, he tempts to the violation of the seventh commandment – “Thou shalt not commit adultery” (Patriarchs and Prophets, 458).

Do you think that something of this nature might be happening to our people today? Let’s just look at this story for a minute. What was it that caused the children of Israel to fall so easily into apostasy? There are a number of points to consider:

1. The Israelites were enjoying leisure time and were not spending time in spiritual renewal and prayer.

2. They were gradually enticed to sin. Sin was all around them and they became so familiar with it that it didn’t seem so sinful to them after a while.

3. They came to enjoy the Moabite music and feasting, and, finally, their mode of idol worship.

4. The leaders were instrumental in causing many to think that there would be nothing wrong with fraternizing with the heathens around them.

The Spirit of Prophecy makes it very plain that Israel of old is the type of the modern Church of God—the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The experiences that they went through can be seen in our church’s history. Are we now experiencing the apostasy at the Jordan?

Sensual indulgence weakens the mind and debases the soul. The moral and intellectual powers are benumbed and paralyzed by the gratification of the animal propensities; and it is impossible for the slave of passion to realize the sacred obligation of the law of God, to appreciate the atonement, or to place a right value upon the soul…

By beholding we become changed. By the indulgence of impure thoughts, man can so educate his mind that sin which he once loathed will become pleasant to him...Satan is using every means to make crime and debasing vice popular. We cannot walk the streets of our cities without encountering flaring notices of crime presented in some novel or to be acted at some theater. The mind is educated to familiarity with sin…

Those who would not fall a prey to Satan’s devices must guard well the avenues of the soul; they must avoid reading, seeing, or hearing that which will suggest impure thoughts. The mind should not be left to wander at random upon every subject that the adversary of souls may suggest (Patriarchs and Prophets, 458-460).

Then there is the problem of the way people dress and act that we encounter every day. This, also, becomes a means whereby Satan entices us to sin. Let us bring the points that led to Israel’s downfall to our modern age.

The Pursuit of Pleasure
Has there ever been a time in Earth’s history when more time is spent on pleasure than the present? I believe it is right for us to take some time to be with our families and to enjoy some relaxation after having exerted ourselves in work. But never should this be to the exclusion of time spent with God in His word and on our knees. In fact, God should be our first priority every day.

Familiarity with Evil
The children of Israel were enticed to sin by watching and seeing the evil on every side. Satan has now made such advances in this day and age that we do not need to leave our home in order to see and hear evil. Now he has brought the evil into the privacy of our homes. Television has bridged the gap.

Satan was very cunning in how he brought the evil into our homes. Originally, the programs were “innocent” and captivating. Then gradually, the programs became more violent and sensual. The ads also began with innocence. Now there is hardly a program that one as a Christian can watch and know that it would be approved of in heaven. Watching the news is also alarming. The ads that are put in between the news items are not fit for Christians to see. Even the news items themselves are so graphic, that we have become hardened to scenes of violence and crime. This is just how Satan wants it to be.

Then there are the violent and often demonic games that nearly every home has. Our children play these games by the hour, never realizing that Satan is stealing their souls. All of this is causing us to find the study of God’s Word boring and uninteresting. And yet, when we feed our souls on the Word of God and commune with Him, the “things of this world will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace!” It all depends on whom we will worship.

When we pray, we should ask God to help us instantly recognize what Satan is suggesting so we can resist the thought, or take our eyes away from seeing evil. How often after we see an immoral suggestion, Satan plays that scene over and over again in our minds trying to break us down so that we will fall when the opportunity comes! The admonition to “Guard well the avenues of the soul” should be taken very seriously. Whom do we intend to worship?

Music
Music is a very controversial subject. The music we listen to and participate in will tell whom we worship! Rick Warren, in his book, The Purpose-Driven Life says this:
Worship has nothing to do with the style or volume or speed of a song. God loves all kinds of music because he invented it all—fast and slow, loud and soft, old and new. You probably don’t like it all, but God does! If it is offered to God in spirit and truth, it is an act of worship…

Christians often disagree over the style of music used in worship…But there is no biblical style! There are no musical notes in the Bible; we don’t even have the instruments they used in Bible.

There is no such thing as ‘Christian’ music; there are only Christian lyrics. It is the words that make a song sacred, not the tune. There are no spiritual tunes.ⁱ

Compare the above statements with what the inspired writings say about music:
The things you have described as taking place in Indiana, the Lord has shown me would take place just before the close of probation. Every uncouth thing will be demonstrated. There will be shouting, with drums, music and dancing. The senses of rational beings will become so confused that they cannot be trusted to make right decisions. And this is called the moving of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit never reveals itself in such methods, in such a bedlam of noise. This is an invention of Satan to cover up his ingenious methods for making of none effect the pure, sincere, elevating, ennobling, sanctifying truth for this time. Better never have the worship of God blended with music than to use musical instruments to do the work which last January was represented to me would be brought into our camp meetings. The truth for this time needs nothing of this kind in its work of converting the souls. A bedlam of noise shocks the senses and perverts that which if conducted aright might be a blessing. The powers of satanic agencies blend with the din and noise, to have a carnival, and this is termed the Holy Spirit’s working…

The Holy Spirit has nothing to do with such a confusion of noise and multitude of sounds as passed before me last January. Satan works amid the din and confusion of such music, which, properly conducted, would be a praise and glory to God. He makes its effect like the poison sting of the serpent…Satan will make music a snare by the way in which it is conducted (2 Selected Messages, 36-38).

We are admonished that the character of our music can elevate our thoughts and feelings or degenerate them (See 2T, 322).

I realize that this quote refers to worldly music, but I also believe that it can apply to so-called Christian rock. Listening to the beat and the grating singing sounds that come along with even Christian rock only causes one to become insensitive to the sounds and words of worldly rock. Only the words are different.

Alan O’Day, singer, musician, and composer wrote this:
To me, Contemporary Christian music is the station that I tune in on the radio, thinking that I’m hearing secular music because it sounds so hip – until I catch the words and realize the lyric has a slightly different intent. I am happy to see that Christian music is moving into the 20th century, and that in some cases, the distinction between Christian and secular music is being blurred.ⁱⁱ

Richard Harrington, writing in the Washington Post, says that the religious recording industry recognizes the terrific sales potential in pushing more “positive pop” into the churches. He says it is capitalizing on its opportunity to make big sales by fusing current popular musical styles with religious words.ⁱⁱⁱ

In his book Why Should the Devil Have all the Good Music? Paul Baker writes this:
“Christian rock” entered the churches—not through Christian musicians who sought to glorify the Lord—but by unsaved, secular rock performers who capitalized on religious themes.^iv

What is today hailed by church administrators, pastors, and youth leaders as a great victory…is actually a device of the devil to destroy everyone in the churches…

Rock music, by its very history and what it does in the lives of those who tamper with it, is unholy. To attempt to use it “to glorify God” is blasphemy…Rock music began as a rebellious sexual style of music. It remains that today. It is offensive to God and to genuine Christians who love Him and seek to obey His Word, the Bible…trying to unite a holy message with the unholy music of the world is an abomination in the eyes of God.^v

When you read about the children of Israel joining with the Moabites in their celebration, can you see a parallel in the Christian Church today joining in the worship celebration using the music of the world. We have been warned that this would happen before the Second Coming of Jesus.

Dr. Juanita McElwain writes this:
The same exact rhythms are used…in African and Indian music, in rock music and in music used in meetings of faith healers. The god comes, whenever he is called by anyone using those rhythms...Does the god come to celebration-type worship services, when the god’s rhythm is played in Christian rock music, even though the people present do not realize they are calling a god? There is quite a strong consensus that the god does come.^vi

There are many testimonials of Christian young people who were bound by Satan as they were listening to Christian rock. It has only been by sincere confession and turning away from listening to this music, asking God to cover them with His precious blood, that victory was gained. In some cases they said it took months of daily prayer and Bible study to regain the Christian experience that they had lost because of the “Christian” music they had been listening to. The question remains, whom will you worship?

I would like to encourage you not to get lost in the apostasy at the Jordan as the children of Israel did. My primary objective in writing this article was to point people to the dangers that are surrounding us. God has an adversary who has a plan to delude people in the name of our precious Saviour. I want to challenge you to study and pray that you will not be led by the subtlety of Satan. Let the Word of God be your final authority.

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord (Joshua 24:15).

I like it when Spirit of Prophecy says Agitate. Its strong language

There are but few as yet who are aroused sufficiently to understand how much their habits of diet have to do with their health, their characters, their usefulness in this world, and their eternal destiny. I saw that it is the duty of those who have received the light from Heaven, and have realized the benefit of walking in it, to manifest a greater interest for those who are still suffering for want of knowledge. Sabbathkeepers who are looking for the soon appearing of their Saviour should be the last to manifest a lack of interest in this great work of reform. Men and women must be instructed, and ministers and people should feel that the burden of the work rests upon them to agitate the subject, and urge it home upon others.--Testimonies, Vol. 1, pp. 488, 489. {CME 32.2}

For years the voice of God has been saying to us, "Agitate, agitate, agitate." Study every point of truth, that you may know for yourselves what is truth in distinction from error. Let students search for themselves, that they may know the deep things of God. Let this work be done in the Spirit of Christ. Put no restriction upon the students. {CSW 36.2}
In searching the Scriptures there is need of great humility of mind and contrition of heart, of seeking earnestly unto God. Those who come in a lowly spirit, seeking for truth, will be aided in their search by the angels of God.--TSS 55, 56. {CSW 37.1}

But our peculiar faith should not be discussed with patients. Their minds should not be unnecessarily excited upon subjects wherein we differ, unless they themselves desire it; and then great caution should be observed not to agitate the mind by urging upon them our peculiar faith.{CH 245.2}

A Call to Enlighten the Masses.--I have been shown that Satan is stealing a march upon us. The law of God, through the agency of Satan, is to be made void. In our land of boasted freedom, religious liberty will come to an end. The contest will be decided over the Sabbath question, which will agitate the whole world.
Ev 236.3}

Let us not agitate questions that will reveal a marked difference of opinion, but rather let us bring from the Word the sacred truths regarding the binding claims of the law of God. {2NL 160.9}

The Scattering and Gathering of Adventism as shown in William Miller’s dream.
The meaning of Prophetic symbols depends on the context; for example a lion may be Satan, Christ, Judah, Babylon or just an animal—you know by the context.
As people have analyzed this dream, many times they say the Jewels represent God’s People, James White thought that these jewels represented God’s people—but James White was wrong. Jewels also represent the truths of God’s Word. Many Spirit of Prophecy quotes can back that up.
We take the position that these Jewels represent the truths of God’s Word. What I am suggesting here is that William Millers dream represents the scattering that comes into Adventism that will be swept away at the time period when the 144,000 are raised up, and in this dream correctly understood, you can recognize that the emphasis is that the foundational truths of Adventism are what get scattered and they are to be re-established. Therefore, this is in agreement with what we teach in regard to the raising up of the foundations of many generations, and returning to the old paths.
I want to remind you of one thing before we begin this dream, 1798, when the book of Daniel would be unsealed, Daniel 12 said it would be sealed up to the time of the end. Sister White says the Books of Daniel and Revelation

complement each other—they bring each other to perfection. And the unsealing of the book of Daniel that is also identified in the book of Revelation is identified in Revelation 5 and onward, when Christ, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, begins to unseal the Bible, He is unsealing the Prophetic truths that brought about the Millerite experience. And he did not do that work until John Wept much!
William Miller’s Dream
I dreamed that God, by an unseen hand, sent me a curiously wrought casket about ten inches long by six square, --
Now why in the world do we have to know that it is 10 inches by 6 square? Why do we have to know that? Why didn’t it just say that He sent me a curiously wrought box—why did we have to know that it is 10 X 6 X6? Brothers and sisters, if you multiply 10 X 6 X6 you get 360 and you see that day-year principle—the premier rule of Bible Prophecy has been identified in this casket.

Ebony is a black and very hard wood while pearls are bright—to me I see a parallel in this to the ‘sweet in the mouth and bitter in the belly’ thing.
To the casket there was a key attached.
Now when James White comments on this, he says the key is the rules of Biblical prophetic interpretation by William Miller. Here’s the box emphasizing the day-year principle and the key representing the rules used by the one Sister White calls the messenger of the 1st angel. What the Lord used to assemble the foundations of Adventism.
I immediately took the key and opened the casket, when, to my wonder and surprise, I found it filled with all sorts and sizes of jewels, diamonds, precious stones, and gold and silver coin of every dimension and value, beautifully arranged in their several places in the casket; and thus arranged they reflected a light and glory equaled only to the sun.
Wouldn’t you love to see that casket? Look at the 1843 chart—that is the casket! That’s the truths that he saw.


I thought it was not my duty to enjoy this wonderful sight alone, although my heart was overjoyed at the brilliancy, beauty, and value of its contents. I therefore placed it on a center table in my room and gave out word that all who had a desire might come and see the most glorious and brilliant sight ever seen by man in this life.
William Miller’s Prophetic Dream
This was the preaching of the message.
The people began to come in, at first few in number, but increasing to a crowd. When they first looked into the casket, they would wonder and shout for joy. But when the spectators increased, everyone would begin to trouble the jewels, taking them out of the casket and scattering them on the table.
From 1830 – 1840 it was a few, but once the year-day principle was confirmed to the world, then the crowds would come to Miller’s meetings.
I began to think that the owner would require the casket and the jewels again at my hand; and if I suffered them to be scattered, I could never place them in their places in the casket again as before; and felt I should never be able to meet the accountability, for it would be immense. I then began to plead with the people not to handle them, nor to take them out of the casket; but the more I pleaded, the more they scattered; and now they seemed to scatter them all over the room, on the floor and on every piece of furniture in the room.
I then saw that among the genuine jewels and coin they had scattered an innumerable quantity of spurious jewels and counterfeit coin. I was highly incensed at their base conduct and ingratitude, and reproved and reproached them for it; but the more I reproved, the more they scattered the spurious jewels and false coin among the genuine.
These were false doctrines taught after 1844. There was a scattering going on here, Brothers and sisters. It is paralleling the scattering here- it is a prophetic parallel.
I then became vexed in my physical soul and began to use physical force to push them out of the room; but while I was pushing out one, three more would enter and bring in dirt and shavings and sand and all manner of rubbish, until they covered every one of the true jewels, diamonds, and coins, which were all excluded from sight. They also tore in pieces my casket and scattered it among the rubbish. I thought no man regarded my sorrow or my anger. I became wholly discouraged and disheartened, and sat down and wept.


Brothers and sisters, there are very few Seventh-day Adventists who can give Bible studies on the truths that are represented on that chart the way the pioneers understood them. They have been scattered and buried from sight and sealed up. Notice here he sits down and weeps like John who wept much in Revelation 5. Then the Lion of the tribe of Judah appeared to unseal the book. Miller here is describing a scattering, covering up and

burying of the foundational truths of Adventism. And here Miller weeps just like John.
When John wept in chapter 5, then the Lion of the tribe of Judah appears.
While I was thus weeping and mourning for my great loss and accountability, I remembered God, and earnestly prayed that He would send me help.
Immediately the door opened, and a man entered the room, when the people all left it; and He, having a dirt brush in His hand, opened the windows, and began to brush the dirt and rubbish from the room.
I cried to Him to forbear, for there were some precious jewels scattered among the rubbish.
He told me to "fear not," for He would "take care of them."
Who is it that says ‘fear not’? This is Christ; the Man with the dirt brush is Christ.
Then, while He brushed the dirt and rubbish, false jewels and counterfeit coin, all rose and went out of the window like a cloud, and the wind carried them away. In the bustle I closed my eyes for a moment; when I opened them, the rubbish was all gone. The precious jewels, the diamonds, the gold and silver coins, lay scattered in profusion all over the room.
He then placed on the table a casket, much larger and more beautiful than the former, and gathered up the jewels, the diamonds, the coins, by the handful, and cast them into the casket, till not one was left, although some of the diamonds were not bigger than the point of a pin.
Why is the casket now bigger? We now have the Spirit of Prophecy as well as more light on the scriptures and end time prophecies because we have the Millerite message and new light that has been shining on the prophecies.
He then called upon me to "come and see."


I looked into the casket, but my eyes were dazzled with the sight. They shone with ten times their former glory. I thought they had been scoured in the sand by the feet of those wicked persons who had scattered and trod them in the dust. They were arranged in beautiful order in the casket, every one in its place, without any visible pains of the man who

cast them in. I shouted with very joy, and that shout awoke me. — Early Writings, 81-83
That shout represents the Loud Cry—when the seven thunders are unsealed. They are unsealed when it is close to the time when probation is about to close. There was a scattering that took place in Adventism and the Lord is now in the process of gathering the 144,000.

Guarding the avenues of the soul.

Introduction
If one were to ask a typical young person today, how many senses do we have? Some might say five others, six. God gave us five senses the devil added one, the sixth sense: ESP…Extra sensory perception…He even made a couple movies to convince this generation that they can communicate with the spirit world and can be a channel for the dead. The old lie in the garden of Eden rings in my ear” ye shall not surely die” There was a young man I heard of, who had such a close call with an evil angel. I don’t remember every detail of the story but I would tell as much as I could remember. He had left church and upon visiting the night clubs he got close to a pretty young lady..one night he lent her his coat and the next night when he did not see her he decided to visit her at the address she had given him. Following her every direction, he came to a cemetery.. a little confused, he continued and low and behold where he ended up was at a grave stone with her name on it and his coat drapped over the grave…you could imagine the shock as the young man realized that he had been courting an evil angel… The devil enjoys fooling even those senses that we think we can trust…seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting and even touching…In this warfare there are no lengths to which he would not go to take every last one of us with him.

The title of the message today is “Guarding the avenues to the soul” Lets pray….

Before we look at the senses, lets establish some ground work first from the Spirit of Prophecy…It says in Adventist Home:
.--All should guard the senses, lest Satan gain victory over them; for these are the avenues of the soul. {AH 401.2}

You will have to become a faithful sentinel over your eyes, ears, and all your senses if you would control your mind and prevent vain and corrupt thoughts from staining your soul. The power of grace alone can accomplish this most desirable work. {AH 401.3}

Satan and his angels are busy creating a paralyzed condition of the senses so that cautions, warnings, and reproofs shall not be heard; or, if heard, that they shall not take effect upon the heart and reform the life. {AH 401.4}

Satan does not wish the people to have a knowledge of God; and if he can set in operation games and theatrical performances that will so confuse the senses of the young that human beings will perish in darkness while light shines all about them, he is well pleased. {AH 401.6}

we have a work to do to resist temptation. Those who would not fall a prey to Satan's devices must guard well the avenues of the soul; they must avoid reading, seeing, or hearing that which will suggest impure thoughts. The mind should not be left to wander at random upon every subject that the adversary of souls may suggest. "Gird up the loins of your mind," says the apostle Peter, "be sober, . . . not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: but as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of living." Says Paul, "Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest,

whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." This will require earnest prayer and unceasing watchfulness. We must be aided by the abiding influence of the Holy Spirit, which will attract the mind upward, and habituate it to dwell on pure and holy things. MYP p.286

Do you know that the brain experiences the world through the senses and that some culture believed this to the point where they guarded each portal or opening with a small god in the form of jewelry, nose rings, earings etc. Even in Genesis 35:2,4 When Jacob told his household to put away the gods that were among them they brought their earings also. Ancient Egyptian and Babylonian customs created the wedding ring, a symbol of eternal never-ending love in harmony with their immortality belief system. They placed it on the only finger they believed (wrongly so) had a vein running straight to the heart… guard the heart? That’s an interesting study, but not for today…

Lets begin to examin the senses:

First – Seeing
This sense is so important that more space in the brain is devoted to sight than any other sense. Also, the Bible places great emphasis on sight for it shows that by beholding we become change into the image we behold.
II Cor.3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Psalms 101:3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; [it] shall not cleave to me.
Jonah 2:8 They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
Romans 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

The arch enemy understands this and so he has amassed a great number of visual distractions, the television, books, billboards, magazines, internet, - the mass media to amuse and entertain. The entertainment industry Have you ever thought of the meaning of those words…media, amuse, entertainment…? A young pastor shared these meanings:

Media (plural) medium (singular) satan always use a medium, he started with the snake in Eden.

Amuse – to deceive by diverting the attention – Are we being amused by the enemy of souls?
Entertainment:
Enter-to come in tain – to hold/to possess ment- a state of
So it means: to come in, posess and keep in a state of possession. Are we letting our children and ourselves be posessed?
Hollywood, the word alone refers to holly, the stick used by magicians like Harry potter and many others, its satanic. It was used to put people to sleep. Not even the so called religious films can be trusted…Every easter we watch the story of Moses but do you know that the account is Islamic from the Koran in detail and not the Holy Bible’s account. Be careful when the devil begins to quote scripture or create things that seem Biblical. Its as much fiction as the fiction books we let our children feed on…Fiction debases the mind. Some people says, oooh its harmless…just a cartoon…we don’t have time to go into it this morning but with the devil there’s nothing like just harmless, since 1844 he began to train an army for himself and some of us and our children are enlisting. Some of our homes are arranged to facilitate the enlistment process, all furniture arranged around a central display-the tv- reminding us of some cultures that set their furniture around the image of their god in the living area. The Bible clearly says that those who enjoy looking at sinful acts portrayed are just as guilty as those committing them…see Romans 1:26-32.
Messages to Young People says:
Dear youth, cease to read the magazines containing stories. Put away every novel. . . . We would do well to clear our houses of all the story magazines and the publications containing ridiculous pictures --representations originated by satanic agencies. The youth cannot afford to poison their minds with such things. "What is the chaff to the wheat?" Let every one who claims to be a follower of Christ read only that which is true and of eternal value. {MYP 286.1}
This is reinforced by the book Last Day Events, it says:
Among the most dangerous resorts for pleasure is the theater. Instead of being a school of morality and virtue, as is so often claimed, it is the very hotbed of immorality. Vicious habits and sinful propensities are strengthened and confirmed by these entertainments. Low songs, lewd gestures, expressions, and attitudes, deprave the imagination and debase the morals. {LDE 87.2}
Every youth who habitually attends such exhibitions will be corrupted in principle. There is no influence in our land more powerful to poison the imagination, to destroy religious impressions, and to blunt the relish for the tranquil pleasures and sober realities of life than theatrical amusements. The love for these scenes increases with every indulgence, as the desire for intoxicating drink strengthens with its use.--4T 652, 653 (1881). {LDE 87.3}
The blessing of God would not be invoked upon the hour spent at the theater or in the dance. No Christian

would wish to meet death in such a place. No one would wish to be found there when Christ shall come.--MYP 398 (1882). {LDE 87.4}


Now I need to say this even though I think it is understood…when I say tv I mean hollywood’s productions not 3ABN production, its not the instrument or medium it’s the one using it. It was not the smake, it was satan. Sometimes we don’t even have to go out to see, on the streets your eyes are assaulted with billboards and walking advertisements. Imitation copies of superstars, undressed in public.. In the garden of Eden when man sinned God dresses man, today satan is undressing …Even in church…sisters, we know that,
The outside appearance is an index to the heart.--1T 136 (1856). {LDE 89.1}
Let us stop the world from dictating our dress…too often we get caught up in a trend as the hem lines get shorter and the cloth gets less, so more and more of our skin is exposed.. Satan knows the effect on the opposite sex and so he pushes it as far as he can go and I think some have gone too far...Let us help our male brethren and not be a stumbling block for them.

Hearing
Lets read, Romans 10:17
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Pervert our hearing, pervert our faith…
What are we hearing today? Music, everywhere… on phones, ipods, mp3 players, in cars, from houses. everywhere …music. I don’t need to tell you that music is powerful, it is the only universal language. A love song in any language conveys that emotion. It can also go into the mind and register without processing and acceptance from the person. A song can teach you something you don’t even want to learn. Let me prove this, how many of us learnt advertisements without even trying. Unfortunately, when create, Lucifer was given that very gift. Lets read Ezekiel 28:13
Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
Lucifer was and is music. Today he continues to influence people through his music…he knows it’s the end of time and so he has his music tailored to every group on the earth. Rock for the worldly, Hip Hop for the not so wordly and so called Christians and church music for the church.
In messages to young people, it says: Music is the idol which many professed Sabbath-keeping Christians worship. Satan has no objection to music, if he can make that a channel through which to gain access to the minds of the youth.MYP p.296

Lets briefly address the last two groups we stated earlier, since it is highly unlikely that we will be found at a heavy metal rock concert. Hip Hop according to Craig Lewis, a music producer, was created as a tool that crosses the boundaries of world and Christian music. Our young people are listening to Snoop Dog, who sold his soul to the devil in exchange for life. KRS1 who in his song says to stop worshipping God and be god and reading the Bible is irrelevant. Bone Thugs and Harmony who use their message on the back of their CD’s written backward to cast spells on young people. When young people hold their CD’s up to a mirror in order to read the message, they take part in an ancient witch’s rite from Salem, and unknowingly speak the curse into themselves. The young people listen to DMX- Dark Man X – who mocks and mimics Christ on his album and employs the devil in the production of his music. One music producer tells of hearing on his album music and cords that cannot be reproduced in any studio…it frightened him because his Christian outlook told him that this music could only come from the devil himself.
In the church the rhythms and beats of the hip hop culture has infiltrated as young people and even some adults listen to this music during the week and when they come to worship on Sabbath they bring with them the need to have things sung and played in a particular beat and rhythm, otherwise the music is boring.
We must remember that Satan wants our worship, even if we are not aware that we are giving it to him. Some so called Christian artist also employ this music, yet we allow their music to be sung in God’s house. Worshipping Satan in God’s house. Allowing him to turn every potential worship service into a celebration of one human inventing or another…celebrate more, worship less…
Ellen White says:
The things you have described as taking place in Indiana, [THESE COMMENTS WERE MADE IN CONNECTION WITH THE "HOLY FLESH" MOVEMENT AT THE INDIANA CAMP MEETING OF 1890. FOR FURTHER DETAILS, SEE SELECTED MESSAGES, BOOK 2, PP. 31-39.] the Lord has shown me would take place just before the close of probation. Every uncouth thing will be demonstrated. There will be shouting, with drums, music, and dancing. The senses of rational beings will become so confused that they cannot be trusted to make right decisions. . . . {LDE 159.1}
A bedlam of noise shocks the senses and perverts that which if conducted aright might be a blessing. The powers of satanic agencies blend with the din and noise to have a carnival, and this is termed the Holy Spirit's working. . . . Those things which have been in the past will be in the future. Satan will make music a snare by the way in which it is conducted.--2SM 36, 38 (1900). {LDE 159.2}
Let us give no place to strange exercisings, which really take the mind away from the deep movings of the Holy Spirit. God's work is ever characterized by calmness and dignity.--2SM 42 (1908). {LDE 159.3}

But you know, the devil knows that he can’t get some sisters or brothers in the church to sing hip hop or rock, because they are old fashion and it just does not feel right, so he infiltrates our hymns. Hymns are not just songs. Hymns put into music what we believe hence we are suppose to sing with understanding. Someone sent my husband a Christ in Song – anyone remembers that old hymn book. Before the Church Hymnal and there I understood this concept because the text was quoted and them the song was written. But let’s look at one of the hymns we sing…Let us turn to hymn #403 and at the same time find Ezekiel. 8:16-18. Lets read the text together……..in vs.16 it talks about sun worship...now read the hymn on your own #403. Do you see it? Are we sun worshippers? Why then are we singing such a song? Brethren the devil is working overtime, the Lord must be coming soon.

Ellen White says:

The history of the songs of the Bible is full of suggestion as to the uses and benefits of music and song. Music is often perverted to serve purposes of evil, and it thus becomes one of the most alluring agencies of temptation. But, rightly employed, it is a precious gift of God, designed to uplift the thoughts to high and noble themes, to inspire and elevate the soul. {MYP 291.3}

Music was made to serve a holy purpose, to lift the thoughts to that which is pure, noble, and elevating, and to awaken in the soul devotion and gratitude to God. What a contrast between the ancient custom and the uses to which music is now too often devoted! How many employ this gift to exalt self, instead of using it to glorify God! A love for music leads the unwary to unite with worldlovers in pleasure gatherings where God has forbidden His children to go. Thus that which is a great blessing, when rightly used, becomes one of the most successful agencies by which Satan allures the mind from duty and from the contemplation of eternal things. {MYP 293.1}


The next sense: Touching

This is a ticklicish one, no pun intended…but it has both direct and indirect applications. Our skin is covered with about 5 million sensors…When touched in the right place at the right time a person’s emotions and movements can be controlled, since the area in the brain which processes touch is located directly behind the area associated with movement. The young and lonely are particularly vulnerable to this as the comfort of a loving touch can do wonders .We know touch is especially important to healthy infant development. Human being need to touch and therefore perverting such a simple act of touch would serve to weaken our spiritual defenses.

The ultimate act of intimacy, sex has also been distorted. In today’s society the act of sex has been so debased and distorted that it can be found in dance moves, in games, in festivals and celebration. We are often caught up in this as there seems to be a kind of freedom, looseness, familiarity exhibited between the sexes in their casual intercourse.
When growing up there was something called personal space…it was that unwritten barrier that existed around a typical Adventist young girl. A barrier that young men had to get permission to cross. Where has that barrier gone? 1Corinthians 7:1 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: [It is] good for a man not to touch a woman. Young men and women are too common in their interactions, the body is no longer treated as the temple of God… Young men are given free access to touch, squeeze and fondle, even under the guise of play. The bodies of young ladies are displayed and paraded in church for the young men to see…I must say that I admire one of our older sisters, she will diligently cover up some of the young who come to church exposed
Ellen Whit admonishes: The forwardness of young girls in placing themselves in the company of young men, lingering around where they are at work, entering into conversation with them, talking common, idle talk, is belittling to womanhood. It lowers them, even in the estimation of those who themselves indulge in such things. . . . Young ladies should be reserved and modest. {CH 294.2}

This not only goes for the young but the older ones who are now getting involved in such boob display and fashions of the world and who set a bad example for the young.

She goes on to say:

The young are bewitched with the mania for courtship and marriage. Lovesick sentimentalism prevails. Great vigilance and tact are needed to guard the youth from these wrong influences. Many parents are blind to the tendencies of their children. Some parents have stated to me, with great satisfaction, that their sons or daughters had no desire for the attentions of the opposite sex, when in fact these children were at the same time secretly giving or receiving such attentions, and the parents were so much absorbed in worldliness and gossip that they knew nothing about the matter. {5T 59.4}

No one is saying that you should be cold and touch no one, however that touch must be one that would encourage, uplift and ennoble. In the garden of Eden, eve was told not to touch the tree…Israelites were told not to touch the ark…we are admonish not to touch the even the carcase of unclean animals like the pig.
Leviticus 11:8 Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they [are] unclean to you. Who you touch, when you touch, how you touch, is important.
However, when you touch Jesus and he touches your life something different occurs:
Matthew 9:21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
Luke 6:19 And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed [them] all.

Taste
The tongue has 10,000 very tiny bumps called taste buds, they help us to taste what we eat. The sense of smell is also closely connected to taste. Have you ever noticed that when you have a bad cold you cannot taste your food much? I don’t think I need to spend much time on this for every Adventist know that we become what we eat…the body temple is either made healthy or sick by our dietary habits. The appetite of the world should not be ours. The overstimmulating chemicals which makes addicts of those who eat should not be our experience…when the time of trouble hit, are we going to let the smell of KFC lure and numb our senses so we cannot discern aright and make sound decisions. Ellen White says:
Satan is constantly on the alert to bring the race fully under his control. His strongest hold is through the appetite, and this he seeks to stimulate in every possible way. Counsels on Diet and Foods p.150.
The battle of the appetite is so great that it was the point at which Satan gained victory over Eve. Israel fed upon angels’ food and still begged for the flesh pots of Egypt. Esau for a morsel of meal sold his birthright (Heb.12:16) It took Jesus 40 days of fasting to break the sinful hold of appetite and when he was at His weakest, Satan attacked Him with the temptation, turn these stones into bread. Our diet and spirituality are closely connected. The book Temperance (p.20)says that Christ “ knew that appetite would be man’s idol and would lead him to forget God, and would stand directly in the way of his salvation”
The controlling power of appetite would prove the ruin of thousands, when, if they had conquered on this one point, they would have the moral power to gain victory over every other temptation of Satan. But slaves to appetite would fail in perfecting Christian character.(p.16)
The ultimate act of temperance has to do with our whole being. It demands that we totally abstain from that which is bad and moderately use that which is good. Daniel understood this. He said, I will not ‘defile’ myself with the portion of the king’s meat. Paul understood this when he said in 1 Corinthians 8:16,17, Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy: for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
Why are we still struggling with dietary abnormalities? Because on this battlefront, if victory is won, we would easily overcome all other areas of our sinful life. Sanctification would be our daily experience. Clear minds and hearts will communicate with God.
Some of us are still struggling with the basic – no meat! Our taste buds have been perverted. Do you know that flesh or meat contains blood and uric acid (urine)? Someone told me that the urine and blood gives it that special smell. If you remove the blood and urine from meat, the meat would taste like shoe leather. The jews are very particular about the processing of their meat…they prepare meat the way the Bible intended, they remove all blood from it, they call it cosher meat.
The Bible says,in Lev.17:10-14 and Lev. 19:26 what is confirmed in Genesis 9:4, which says:
“But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.”
The Spirit of prophecy admonishes that we take one more step:
God is trying to lead us back, step by step, to His original design--that man should subsist upon the natural products of the earth. Among those who are waiting for the coming of the Lord meat eating will eventually be done away; flesh will cease to form a part of their diet. We should ever keep this end in view and endeavor to work steadily toward it.--CH 450 (1890). {LDE 81.5}
Greater reforms should be seen among the people who claim to be looking for the soon appearing of Christ. Health reform is to do among our people a work which it has not yet done. There are those who ought to be awake to the danger of meat eating who are still eating the flesh of animals, thus endangering the physical, mental, and spiritual health. Many who are now only half converted on the question of meat eating will go from God's people, to walk no more with them.--RH May 27, 1902. {LDE 82.1}

Back to God's Design.--Again and again I have been shown that God is bringing His people back to His original design, that is, not to subsist on the flesh of dead animals. He would have us teach people a better way. . . . If meat is discarded, if the taste is not educated in that direction, if a liking for fruits and grains is encouraged, it will soon be as God in the beginning designed it should be. No meat will be used by His people.

Brethren, Let us be careful that the cunning enemy of the soul has not laid a trap for us even in our logically calculated diet and lifestyle. Let our lives be guided and dictated by the Spirit of Prophecy. The Holy Spirit works in us to help us overcome, even our intemperate activities.


Smell-
This is a unique sense, often underestimated…for when the devil cannot get us to indulge directly, he triggers our memory through smell. By indulging the memory we partake in the act once again…Let us remember Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places .

We are counseled:
Many of the amusements popular in the world today, even with those who claim to be Christians, tend to the same end as did those of the heathen. There are indeed few among them that Satan does not turn to account in destroying souls. Through the drama he has worked for ages to excite passion and glorify vice. The opera, with its fascinating display and bewildering music, the masquerade, the dance, the card table, Satan employs to break down the barriers of principle and open the door to sensual indulgence. In every gathering for pleasure where pride is fostered or appetite indulged, where one is led to forget God and lose sight of eternal interests, there Satan is binding his chains about the soul. {ML 87.3}
Our only safety is to be shielded by the grace of God every moment, and not put out our own spiritual eyesight so that we will call evil, good, and good, evil. Without hesitation or argument, we must close and guard the avenues of the soul against evil.

Why God Gave Us Eyes, Ears, and Speech?.--God gave men eyes, that they might behold wondrous things out of His law. He gave them the hearing ear, that they might listen to His message, spoken by the living preacher. He gave men the talent of speech, that they might present Christ as the sin-pardoning Saviour. With the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. {AH 401.1}


Those who would have that wisdom which is from God must become fools in the sinful knowledge of this age, in order to be wise. They should shut their eyes, that they may see and learn no evil. They should close their ears, lest they hear that which is evil and obtain that knowledge which would stain their purity of thoughts and acts. And they should guard their tongues, lest they utter corrupt communications and guile be found in their mouths. {AH 404.1}

Do you watch soap operas? He said no

Do you memorise the scriptures? he said yes
Do you listen to wordly music? He said no.
when all his answers proved that him and his wife were true Christians, not tainting themselves with the things of this world. The witch had to admit that he could not touch them. He had no portal of entry, he could not posess or manipulate their actions.
The Spirit of Prophecy says:
All who name the name of Christ need to watch and pray and guard the avenues of the soul, for Satan is at work to corrupt and destroy if the least advantage is given him. {AH 402.3}
Lets not give him the advantage. Let us clean our houses, clean our hearts, so we could meet Jesus when He comes. Amen.

The Law written on hearts of Flesh

Writing On Hearts of Flesh

The Bible talks about or describes the law the 10 commandments as Immutable.
Immutable = Unchanging.

Deuteronomy 10:1-6 says it was place in the ark. Once place in the Ark no one could touch it, they would die if they do. It was not to be tampered with, exposure to the ark where the God of righteousness dwell would mean instant death.

It was written on tablets of stone by fingers of God Exodus 31:18.

As Adventist we more than anyone know what the Law is. We preach it, we claim that we live it. We boast about keeping it. The Sabbath the centerpiece of the law is our weapon of choice sometimes.
Oh we love this text below:
Deuteronomy 32:46 And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.

But is Gods law more than the ten commands?
Is God’s Law more than Do’s and Don’ts?







1. The Bible says the law is about Freedom

James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

James 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

2. The Law brings about conversion.

Ps 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

A Statement:
It is the work of conversion and sanctification to reconcile men to God, by bringing them into accord with the principles of his law. In the beginning, man was created in the image of God. He was in perfect harmony with the nature and the law of God; the principles of righteousness were written upon his heart. But sin alienated him from his Maker. He no longer reflected the divine image. His heart was at war with the principles of God's law. "The carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be." [ROM. 8:7.] But "God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son," that man might be reconciled to God. Through the merits of Christ he can be restored to harmony with his Maker. (This points us to point 3) His heart must be renewed by divine grace, he must have a new life from above. This change is the new birth, without which, says Jesus, "he cannot see the kingdom of God."

3. Is the law wrapped up in Does and don’ts or a person?

Statement : The first step in reconciliation to God, is the conviction of sin. "Sin is the transgression of the law." "By the law is the knowledge of sin." [1 JOHN 3:4; ROM. 3:20.] In order to see his guilt, the sinner must test his character by God's great standard of righteousness. It is a mirror which shows the perfection of a righteous character, and enables him to discern the defects in his own. {GC88 467.2}

The law reveals to man his sins, but it provides no remedy. While it promises life to the obedient, it declares that death is the portion of the transgressor.

So every individual that is seated here today will be judged measure against the Law of God. But not saved by it. THE LAW will JUDGE us, BUT IT CANNOT SAVE!

The Bible says: Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.

Fulfill means: To execute

The Bible Says:

Romans 7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

What is Holy? The law.
The law is what? Just.
And what? Good

What Does “Good” mean. Strong concordance says the original world for good is ag-ath-os'

What does good mean?
There are no words to adequately describe good,
but God is good.
So if God is good then I must according the text have the Character of God? We have a better understanding of God only through His Son. So therefore we must be like Christ.

Dictionaries try to define Good as: morally excellent; virtuous; righteous.
Christ was and is morally excellent; virtuous; righteous.

So we see that the Law represents the Character of God the person and Christ came and executed the law in the flesh.
He kept all of it. Bible proof of this:

2Corinthians 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

The learned men tried to convict Christ of breaking the law.
But they did not realize that the epitome of the law was standing before them.
This brings me to the next point.

Jeremiah 31:33, Zechariah 7:12, Romans 2:15, Romans 2:15, Hebrews 8:10, Hebrews 10:16

Jeremiah 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Zechariah 7:12 Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts.

Romans 2:15 Which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Hebrews 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

Get the point?
God is aiming to regain the original. Remember first statement from Great controversy page 467
“the principles of righteousness were written upon his heart”

• God wants to rewrite the law on fleshy hearts.
• He wants the principles of righteousness to be a reality.
• He wants to hard wire righteousness in the heart.
• The things we do and don’t do as counted by the law will be as a result of “The law” the man Christ in us,
In other words Abstinence from sing will come as a consequence of the presence of Christ in us.
• Godly hatred for sin must be a natural desire for man.

Coming home how! Rubber hitting road

Turn with me Rev 10:7
It says:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

What 7th angel? And what is this angel sounding ?
Answer 7th angel is the trumpet sounding angels of Rev 8,9,11.

The Bible clearly shows the 7th trumpet to be the 3rd woe.
All the woes the 1st ,2nd 3rd Woe to be radical Islam

There signature is all over Rev chapter 9,11.

So if the 3rd woe which is the 7th trumpet began to sound in September 11th 2001 according to Rev 10:7 The mystery of God should be completed at the end of the sounding of 7th trumpet period. This is when an empire falls or is subdued according to history and the Rev 8,9,11 the trumpet stops sounding. Read Daniel and Revelation by Uriah Smith which further endorses these views. This was Pioneer understanding.

So God gives us a probationary time to work with, for some mystery to be completed. What is that mystery?

25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God;
26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

Time is running out. Is the Law the ten commandments written in your heart (heart of flesh?).Is Christ in you. If not how far off are you?
This is serious times for Adventism Judgment begins at home.

911 serious wake up call for adventism.

In 1840-1844 a group of individuals studying Biblical prophecy came up with this chart Below call the Millerite chart .This chart was not design by Miller himself however preachers preaching the same message drew up in a concise way in one chart all of the prophetic data they have been paying attention to at the time. This chart clearly in one glance has all the information and teachings of the 300 men preaching this millerite message. In fact this chart seems to fulfil a prophecy in itself.

HABAKKUK 2:2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

But on to the subject at hand .. I want to zero in on something special about this chart. I want on investigate if signs of 911 coming to past was or is shown in this chart and I believe it is.

This chart among other things gave evidence of Islamic forces in action,excerpts of Revelation9 and Revelation 11 were use to show this of course.

In Revelation chapter 9,10,11 The Bible speaks of seven trumpets. The milllerite movement at the time,all 300 of them taught that the 7 trumpets represented armies attacking Rome .
We know in History that Rome was constatly attack or besiege by barbarian armies as follows.

(Biblical trumpets of Rev chap 8,9,11)

1. Visigoths under leader Aleric 395 AD.(Barbarian tribes)
2. Vandals under Genseric AD 428-468.(Barbarian tribes)
3. Huns under Attila AD 429-451.(Barbarian tribes)*
4. Huruli under Odoacer AD 476 (Barbarian tribes)
   
5. Saracens under Mohammed 628:The battle of Nineveh (Islamic)
   
6. Ottoman (Othman)Turks under Abubeker AD July 27th-Aug 11,1840 (Islamic)
   
7. The 7th was yet future for the Millerite preachers in 1844.It was not on the 1843 chart.
   

Although the 7th trumpet was yet future the Millerite preachers knew it would come to past for couple reason. They had confidence in there prophetic time interpretations a literal year for a prophetic day in the Bible. The evidence.

1. They had predicted the fall of the Othman empire 10 days prior to it doing so by this verse in Revelation 9:15 which reads" And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. "

When the time there is calculated to suggest as the Bible says in Ezekiel 4:5,6 ,Numbers 14:34

The above 1 hr +1 day +1 month(30days )+1 year(360 days) = 391 years and 15 days.
Now the Othman empire started July 27th 1449 therefore it should expire according to prophecy in 11th Aug 1840 .

2.The year day principle is also proven in may other prophecies including Christ year of Christ baptism,his death on the cross and the length of His ministry.After you have been through this topic you can further prove the year day theory conclusively from the chart on the right by clicking on it.

It just so happen that Josiah Litch one of the 300 Millerite preachers predicted this 391 years and 15 days peiord to the very day in which it was a couple days from thier time due to be fulfilled.Therefore they new they were on the write path as far as the year day theory.

The Woes and Trumpets

Now noticed above the 6th and 7th Armies to attack Rome were fundamentally the same group, they were Islamic in nature. Note the bible calls the last 3 out of the 7 trumpets Woes.

After the sounding of 4 trumpets in Rev 8:7-12 a new type of trumpet comes on the scene in Rev8:13 . They are called Woe trumpets (or as the Bible describes: woes that come by reason of the other remaining trumpet) all this means is the trumpets brings the woes.

Now what does this have to do with 911 ?

History proves that the 1st and 2nd woes were Islamic in nature.In fact in the Islamic world The History that we have just describe as the the 1st and second woe/5th and 6th trumpet is known among Muslims as the 1st and second Great Jihads. Announced and promoted only by Great Islamic leaders.

If flags have not started going up in your heads by now then lets go more to the Bible and shows its proof in history.
All the Woes trumpets in Revelation are only mention in Revelation chapter 9 and Revelation chapter 11.
Let me explain; I did a PC Bible search on my laptop. And in came up with this result
Woe is mentioned 98 times in The Bible ( KJV) of course, I recommend no other, see "New age Bible Versions" or "Rat poison".

What is interesting is this; Out of the 98 times the word "woe"is mentioned totally in the Bible, in the prophetic book of Revelation it is mentioned only 4 times.
In Revelation 8:13 it warns of the woes to come.
In Revelation 9:1-11 Details are given of the 1st woe and mention of its conclusionin verse 12
In Revelation 9:13-21 Details are given of the 2nd and in Revelation 11:14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly. we see the second coming then past.
And finally in Rev 12:12 which talks about greif to fall on the inhabitants of the earth. in general because of Satan

As you read on you will find no details of the 3rd woe,no events are recorded. However strangely In Rev chapter 10 The Bible switches subject ,details are given of the people of God and a state preparedness should attained and also mystery that should be finished etc in Rev10:7 ,what is the mystery of God Colossians 1:25,26,27,28 tells us the mystery is Christ in man or interpreted his character or Christ- likeness in man should be completed at the end of sounding of seventh trumpet or 3rd woe.

However ,you would look in vain for details of the 3rd woe. Were we suppose to figure this out?

• Revelation 8:13 says 3 woes would be coming: Woe, woe, woe.
• We can identify details of woe 1 and woe 2 in Revelation chapter's 9 and 11
  
• Woe 3 is no where to be found.

Was the evidence of the 3rd woe bound up in Revelation chapter's 9 and 11?

Well history and Rev chapter 9 agrees

1. The Armies of Mohammed attacked Roman armies using Guerilla warfare.
2. They tormented (terrorised) but did not kill, they hurt by exacting tributes from Rome (Rome was damaged economically.The Bible proves this in Rev 9:5,6.
3. They were directed by Mohammed at home he was never leading the charge in war, the power was left behind at home, the power was in the tale (scorpion) Rev 9:10.

Note history and Rev chapter 11 agree also

1. The Armies of Mohammed attacked Roman armies using Guerilla warfare again.
2. They killed (Rev9:18) this time with Fire and Brimstone (this was the fist time gun-powder was used in war ,muskets shut from horse backs appears as Fire and brimstone coming out of horses mouth Rev9:17,18 . History records the Walls of Constantinople blown down by the new weapons of warfare at that time, explosive.
3. Were directed by their tales also this time of serpents ,again the power is in the tail. Abubeker now directed the Islamic tribes to attack Rome.He did from home in a tent somewhere.

Back to the question:
Was the clues of the 3rd woe bound up in Revelation chapter's 9 and 11?

Well when you add the details of the 1st woe and the 2nd woe, we see some things playing out in our time. Woe1 + Woe 2 seem to equal woe3.

1. Did Radical Islam strike suddenly?
2. Does Radical Islam strike with explosives ?
3. Does Radical Islam strike the army now posing as the world super power America ?
4. Is Radical Islam commanded by an Imam somewhere in Afghanistan,Pakistan,in Caves somewhere ( sting is still in tail).
5. What is fundamental is Bin Laden calls this war on the "infidels"the 3rd Great Jihad.Does this sound familiar to Mohammed and Abubeker pronouncements of the 1st and 2nd Jihad?

Did people in 1844 lay down a chart that pointed to events in Sept 11,2001 ?
Has the 3rd woe began ? Note the woes and trumpets are not one time war events but periods of time according to History and theBible

Remember that chart we have above ,the one we started with the 1843 Millerite chart .Two war horses with Islamic men are seen riding Representing the 5th and 6th trumpets detailed in Revelation chapters 9 and 11. Let me blow it up a bit for you to see its on the right side here now . Notice something. 3 Trumpet blowing angels representing 5th ,6th ,7th trumpets these are the same that will bring the 1st ,2nd and 3rd Woe Represented by the turban men on war horses,but notices the 3rd horseman is missing.
Where is the 3rd horseman? For the Millerite the 3rd woe was yet future to them. But they have given us enough clues if not to predict but to notice from hind sight who the 3rd horseman would be.


The Bible does not have things in there that are not important.

2Timopthy3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

ECCLESIASTES 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.

Daniel 2:22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.

Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

The secret things are the prophecies in the prophetic books in the Bible. But does God reveal these secrets ? Yes to special a group who obey all his laws.
Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
That scripture above eliminate a lot of religious group. A few keep the commandment of God all of it.Others make excuses and one claim to have Ecclesiastical power. so that filters out many groups ,what again can identify this group that secrets, the prophecies are revealed to.

Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
What is the testimony of Jesus Christ?

Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

What church or religious group has a credible prophet up to this point ?
The same Group from which the chart above published in 1843
Although many in this group do not even know about this chart due to there sleeping laodecian state This does not negate the fact the truth resides in this group. Praise God what was given to the Jews have been passed on to the gentiles who believe in the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

An there are even more compelling technical evidence that prove this 3rd woe is 911.
