911 serious wake up call for adventism.

In 1840-1844 a group of individuals studying Biblical prophecy came up with this chart Below call the Millerite chart .This chart was not design by Miller himself however preachers preaching the same message drew up in a concise way in one chart all of the prophetic data they have been paying attention to at the time. This chart clearly in one glance has all the information and teachings of the 300 men preaching this millerite message. In fact this chart seems to fulfil a prophecy in itself.

HABAKKUK 2:2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

The designers,Charles Fitch and Apollos Hale were able to clearly lecture from these charts. click here to open it to a larger view

But on to the subject at hand .. I want to zero in on something special about this chart. I want on investigate if signs of 911 coming to past was or is shown in this chart and I believe it is.

This chart among other things gave evidence of Islamic forces in action, excerpts of Revelation9 and Revelation 11 were use to show this of course.

In Revelation chapter 9,10,11 The Bible speaks of seven trumpets. The milllerite movement at the time, all 300 of them taught that the 7 trumpets represented armies attacking Rome .
We know in History that Rome was constatly attack or besiege by barbarian armies as follows.

Armies that attack ancient Rome
(Biblical trumpets of Rev chap 8,9,11)
  1. Visigoths under leader Aleric 395 AD.(Barbarian tribes)
  2. Vandals under Genseric AD 428-468.(Barbarian tribes)
  3. Huns under Attila AD 429-451.(Barbarian tribes)*
  4. Huruli under Odoacer AD 476 (Barbarian tribes)
  5. Saracens under Mohammed 628:The battle of Nineveh (Islamic)
  6. Ottoman (Othman)Turks under Abubeker AD July 27th-Aug 11,1840 (Islamic)
  7. The 7th was yet future for the Millerite preachers in 1844.It was not on the 1843 chart.

Although the 7th trumpet was yet future the Millerite preachers knew it would come to past for couple reason. They had confidence in there prophetic time interpretations a literal year for a prophetic day in the Bible. The evidence.

1. They had predicted the fall of the Othman empire 10 days prior to it doing so by this verse in Revelation 9:15 which reads" And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. "

When the time there is calculated to suggest as the Bible says in Ezekiel 4:5,6 ,Numbers 14:34

The above 1 hr +1 day +1 month(30days )+1 year(360 days) = 391 years and 15 days.
Now the Othman empire started July 27th 1449 therefore it should expire according to prophecy in 11th Aug 1840 .

2.The year day principle is also proven in may other prophecies including Christ year of Christ baptism, his death on the cross and the length of His ministry. After you have been through this topic you can further prove the year day theory conclusively from the chart on the right by clicking on it.

It just so happen that Josiah Litch one of the 300 Millerite preachers predicted this 391 years and 15 days peiord to the very day in which it was a couple days from thier time due to be fulfilled. Therefore they new they were on the write path as far as the year day theory.

The Woes and Trumpets

Now noticed above the 6th and 7th Armies to attack Rome were fundamentally the same group, they were Islamic in nature. Note the bible calls the last 3 out of the 7 trumpets Woes.

After the sounding of 4 trumpets in Rev 8:7-12 a new type of trumpet comes on the scene in Rev8:13 . They are called Woe trumpets (or as the Bible describes: woes that come by reason of the other remaining trumpet) all this means is the trumpets brings the woes.

Now what does this have to do with 911 ?

History proves that the 1st and 2nd woes were Islamic in nature. In fact in the Islamic world The History that we have just describe as the the 1st and second woe/5th and 6th trumpet is known among Muslims as the 1st and second Great Jihads. Announced and promoted only by Great Islamic leaders.

If flags have not started going up in your heads by now then lets go more to the Bible and shows its proof in history.
All the Woes trumpets in Revelation are only mention in Revelation chapter 9 and Revelation chapter 11.
Let me explain; I did a PC Bible search on my laptop. And in came up with this result
Woe is mentioned 98 times in The Bible ( KJV) of course, I recommend no other, see "New age Bible Versions" or "Rat poison".

What is interesting is this; Out of the 98 times the word "woe"is mentioned totally in the Bible, in the prophetic book of Revelation it is mentioned only 4 times.
In Revelation 8:13 it warns of the woes to come.
In Revelation 9:1-11 Details are given of the 1st woe and mention of its conclusionin verse 12
In Revelation 9:13-21 Details are given of the 2nd and in Revelation 11:14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly. we see the second coming then past.
And finally in Rev 12:12 which talks about greif to fall on the inhabitants of the earth. in general because of Satan

As you read on you will find no details of the 3rd woe,no events are recorded. However strangely In Rev chapter 10 The Bible switches subject ,details are given of the people of God and a state preparedness should attained and also mystery that should be finished etc in Rev10:7 ,what is the mystery of God Colossians 1:25,26,27,28 tells us the mystery is Christ in man or interpreted his character or Christ- likeness in man should be completed at the end of sounding of seventh trumpet or 3rd woe.

However ,you would look in vain for details of the 3rd woe. Were we suppose to figure this out?
  • Revelation 8:13 says 3 woes would be coming: Woe, woe, woe.
  • We can identify details of woe 1 and woe 2 in Revelation chapter's 9 and 11
  • Woe 3 is no where to be found.
Was the evidence of the 3rd woe bound up in Revelation chapter's 9 and 11?

Well history and Rev chapter 9 agrees
  1. The Armies of Mohammed attacked Roman armies using Guerilla warfare.
  2. They tormented (terrorised) but did not kill, they hurt by exacting tributes from Rome (Rome was damaged economically. The Bible proves this in Rev 9:5,6.
  3. They were directed by Mohammed at home he was never leading the charge in war, the power was left behind at home, the power was in the tale (scorpion) Rev 9:10.
Note history and Rev chapter 11 agree also
  1. The Armies of Mohammed attacked Roman armies using Guerilla warfare again.
  2. They killed (Rev9:18) this time with Fire and Brimstone (this was the fist time gun-powder was used in war ,muskets shut from horse backs appears as Fire and brimstone coming out of horses mouth Rev9:17,18 . History records the Walls of Constantinople blown down by the new weapons of warfare at that time, explosive.
  3. Were directed by their tales also this time of serpents ,again the power is in the tail. Abubeker now directed the Islamic tribes to attack Rome.He did from home in a tent somewhere.
Back to the question:
Was the clues of the 3rd woe bound up in Revelation chapter's 9 and 11?

Well when you add the details of the 1st woe and the 2nd woe, we see some things playing out in our time. Woe1 + Woe 2 seem to equal woe3.

  1. Did Radical Islam strike suddenly?
  2. Does Radical Islam strike with explosives ?
  3. Does Radical Islam strike the army now posing as the world super power America ?
  4. Is Radical Islam commanded by an Imam somewhere in Afghanistan,Pakistan,in Caves somewhere ( sting is still in tail).
  5. What is fundamental is Bin Laden calls this war on the "infidels"the 3rd Great Jihad.Does this sound familiar to Mohammed and Abubeker pronouncements of the 1st and 2nd Jihad?
Did people in 1844 lay down a chart that pointed to events in Sept 11,2001 ?
Has the 3rd woe began ? Note the woes and trumpets are not one time war events but periods of time according to History and theBible

Remember that chart we have above ,the one we started with the 1843 Millerite chart .Two war horses with Islamic men are seen riding Representing the 5th and 6th trumpets detailed in Revelation chapters 9 and 11. Let me blow it up a bit for you to see its on the right side here now . Notice something. 3 Trumpet blowing angels representing 5th ,6th ,7th trumpets these are the same that will bring the 1st ,2nd and 3rd Woe Represented by the turban men on war horses, but notices the 3rd horseman is missing.
Where is the 3rd horseman? For the Millerite the 3rd woe was yet future to them. But they have given us enough clues if not to predict but to notice from hind sight who the 3rd horseman would be.

The Bible does not have things in there that are not important.

2Timopthy3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Also
ECCLESIASTES 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.

Daniel 2:22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.

Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

The secret things are the prophecies in the prophetic books in the Bible. But does God reveal these secrets ? Yes to special a group who obey all his laws.
Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
That scripture above eliminate a lot of religious group. A few keep the commandment of God all of it.Others make excuses and one claim to have Ecclesiastical power. so that filters out many groups ,what again can identify this group that secrets, the prophecies are revealed to.

Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
What is the testimony of Jesus Christ?

Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

What church or religious group has a credible prophet up to this point ?
The same Group from which the
chart above published in 1843
Although many in this group do not even know about this chart due to there sleeping laodecian state This does not negate the fact the truth resides in this group. Praise God what was given to the Jews have been passed on to the gentiles who believe in the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

details of 911 was given in Rev 9 and Rev 11 .
An there are even more compelling technical evidence that prove this 3rd woe is 911.

Winds of Strife and the angering of nations

Now Getting Angry

“I saw that the anger of the nations, the wrath of God, and the time to judge the dead were
separate and distinct, one following the other, also that Michael had not stood up, and that the time of trouble, such as never was, had not yet commenced. The nations are now getting angry, but when our High Priest has finished His work in the sanctuary, He will stand up, put on the garments of vengeance, and then the seven last plagues will be poured out.
“I saw that the four angels would hold the four winds until Jesus’ work was done in the
sanctuary, and then will come the seven last plagues.”
Early Writings, 36.

Stirring

“The end of all things is at hand, and the message of warning must be given. A spirit of
anger is stirring the nations, and it will soon be too late to work for the Lord.”
The Paulson Collection, 196.

Are Angry

! “We are standing on the threshold of great and solemn events. Prophecies are fulfilling.
Strange and eventful history is being recorded in the books of heaven—events which it was
declared should shortly precede the great day of God. Everything in the world is in an unsettled state. The nations are angry, and great preparations for war are being made. Nation is plotting against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. The great day of God is hasting greatly. But although the nations are mustering their forces for war and bloodshed, the command to the angels is still in force, that they hold the four winds until the servants of God are sealed in their foreheads.”
Selected Messages, book 1, 221.

Already
!“Already kingdom is rising against kingdom. There is not now a determined engagement.
As yet the four winds are held until the servants of God shall be sealed in their foreheads. Then the powers of earth will marshal their forces for the last great battle. How carefully we should improve the little remaining period of our probation!”
Review and Herald, November 27, 1900.

“In the last scenes of this earth’s history, war will rage.”
Maranatha, 297.

That Spirit Will Increase

“There is a spirit of desperation, of war and bloodshed, and that spirit will increase until the very
close of time. Just as soon as the people of God are sealed in their foreheads—it is not any seal or
mark that can be seen, but a settling into the truth, both intellectually and spiritually, so they cannot
be moved—just as soon as God’s people are sealed and prepared for the shaking, it will come.
Indeed, it has begun already. The judgments of God are now upon the land, to give us warning,
that we may know what is coming.”
Manuscript Releases, volume 10, 252.

The Pioneers

! “This being the period for the fulfillment of the words of the prophet, ‘And the nations were
angry,’ we may reasonably expect that not only the nations of Europe will make great preparations for war, and even advance to battle; but that our own nation, and all the nations of the earth, may become unsettled and angry. But at the same time the four angels will hold the four winds in check, so that the great slaughter will be prevented, till the servants of God shall be sealed.”
James White, Review and Herald, March 7, 1854.

! “The nations will soon be angry, and the two-horned beast will act his part in the conflict that is
just before us; and God’s people will be tried. The Lord is now holding in check the four winds, that the wind may not hurt the earth till God’s remnant are sealed. Revelation 7:2, 3.”
Daniel T. Bourdeau, Review and Herald, July 26, 1860.

The Four Winds: War

! “Soon the four winds of heaven will be loosed, and in every part of the globe there will be
dissension, strife, war, bloodshed.” Manuscript Releases, volume 18, 177.
! And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth,
holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on
the sea, nor on any tree. And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the
seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was
given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the
trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. Revelation 7:1–3.
Strife & War
“Winds are a symbol of strife. The four winds of heaven striving upon the great sea represent
the terrible scenes of conquest and revolution by which kingdoms have attained to power.”
The Great Controversy, 439.

The Four Winds Will Stir Up Of The Nations

“Four mighty angels are still holding the four winds of the earth. Terrible destruction is
forbidden to come in full. The accidents by land and by sea; the loss of life, steadily increasing, by
storm, by tempest, by railroad disaster, by conflagration; the terrible floods, the earthquakes, and the winds will be the stirring up of the nations to one deadly combat, while the angels hold the four winds, forbidding the terrible power of Satan to be exercised in its fury until the servants of God are sealed in their foreheads.”
Review and Herald, June 7, 1887. 144

Their Hands Are Loosening

“I asked my accompanying angel the meaning of what I heard, and what the four angels
were about to do. He said to me that it was God that restrained the powers, and that He gave His
angels charge over things on the earth; that the four angels had power from God to hold the four
winds, and that they were about to let them go; but while their hands were loosening, and the four winds were about to blow, the merciful eye of Jesus gazed on the remnant that were not sealed, and He raised His hands to the Father and pleaded with Him that He had spilled His blood for them.” Early Writings, 38.

Now Being Withdrawn

“The restraining Spirit of God is even now being withdrawn from the world. Hurricanes,
storms, tempests, fire and flood, disasters by sea and land, follow each other in quick succession.
Science seeks to explain all these. The signs thickening around us, telling of the near approach of
the Son of God, are attributed to any other than the true cause. Men cannot discern the sentinel
angels restraining the four winds that they shall not blow until the servants of God are sealed; but when God shall bid His angels loose the winds, there will be such a scene of strife as no pen can picture.”
Testimonies, volume 6, 408.

* In 1842-44 a message went world wide for people to fear God Give glory to Him,To come out of Babylon the false religious system and Babylon is fallen; Judgment was about to fall on those who refuse the message. According to the 2300 days prophecy The sanctuary was to be cleansed. The 300 millerites at the time thought that this meant Christ would come and purify the Earth by fire. They thought the Sanctuary was the Earth. That was a wrong interpretation but the calculation of the date was correct.
The event was wrong but the time prophecy was correct.
The cleansing was to occur in the heavenly sanctuary in heaven Hebrews 8:5,Exodus 29:36 as was represented when the priest went into the most Holy place in the earthly tabernacle Exodus 26:34, Exodus 26:33. More study of the heavenly sanctuary can be viewed here

We are not to sip Babylons wine .We are not use to it.

Are you sipping Babylons wine weekly as a Seventh Day Adventist Christian. Are you living on the appetite of The entertainment industry? Fashion, music, movies?
Those not use to wine normally puke after sampling its venom.. This is why we see the uncleanest in God's Sanctuary on His holy Day sometimes.

Isaiah 28:7 But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.
8 For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean .

COming together with Other churches (Ecumenism) should not be our endgame strategy.

Christ never purchased peace and friendship by compromise with evil. Tho His heart overflowed with love toward the human race, He could not be indulgent to their sins. Because He loved men and women, He was a stern reprover of their vices. His life of suffering, the humiliation to which He was subjected by a perverse nation, show His followers that there must be no sacrifice of principle. God's tried people must maintain watchfulness, with fervent prayer, lest, in their eagerness to prevent discord, they surrender truth, and thus dishonor the God of truth. Peace is too dearly obtained if purchased by the smallest concession to Satan's agencies. The least surrender of principle entangles us in the snare of the enemy. {ST, November 8, 1899 par. 13}
Paul writes to the Romans, "If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men." But there is a point beyond which it is impossible to maintain union and harmony without the sacrifice of principle. Separation then becomes an absolute duty. The laws of nations should be respected when they do not conflict with the laws of God. But when there is collision between them, every true disciple of Christ will say, as did the apostle Peter when commanded to speak no more in the name of Jesus, "We ought to obey God rather than men."

The old paths. The First Fundamental Principles Taught and Practiced by The Seventh-Day Adventist 1872

A

Declaration

of the

Fundamental Principles

Taught and Practiced

by

The Seventh-Day Adventist

“Built upon the foundation of the Apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone.” Ephesians 2:20

Steam Press of the Seventh-Day Adventist Publishing Association, Battle Creek, Mich.

1872

In presenting to the public this synopsis of our faith, we wish to have it distinctly understood that we have no articles of faith, creed or discipline aside from the Bible. We do not put forth this as having authority with our people, nor is it designed to secure uniformity among them, as a system of faith, but is a brief statement of what is, and has been, with great unanimity, held by them. We often find it necessary to meet inquiries on this subject, and sometimes to correct false statements circulated against us, and to remove erroneous impressions which have obtained with those who have not had an opportunity to become acquainted with our faith and practice. Our only object is to meet this necessity.

As Seventh-day Adventist we desire simply that our position shall be understood; and we are the more solicitous for this because there are many who call themselves Adventist who hold views with which we can have no sympathy, some of which, we think, are subversive of the plainest and most important principles set forth in the word of God.

As compared with other Adventist, Seventh-day Adventist differs from one class in believing in the unconscious state of the dead; form another, in believing in the perpetuity of the law of God as summarily contained in the ten commandments, in the operation of the Holy Spirit in the church, and in setting no times for the advent to occur; from all, in the observation of the seventh day of the week as the Sabbath of the Lord, and in many applications of the prophetic scriptures

With these remarks, we ask the attention of the reader to the following propositions which aim to be a concise statement of the more prominent features of our faith.

I. That there is one God, a personal, spiritual Being, the Creator of all things, omnipotent, omniscient, and eternal, infinite in wisdom, holiness, justice, goodness, truth, and mercy; unchangeable, and everywhere present by his representative, the Holy Spirit. Psalms 139:7.

II. That there is one Lord Jesus Christ, and Son of the Eternal Father, the One by whom God created all things, and by whom they do consist; that He took on Him the nature of the seed of Abraham for the redemption of our fallen race; that He dwelt among men, full of grace and truth, lived our example,* died our sacrifice, was raised for our justification, ascended on high to be our only Mediator in the sanctuary in heaven, where, with his own blood, He makes atonement for our sins; which atonement, so far from being made on the cross, which was but the offering of the sacrifice, is the very last portion of His work as priest, according to the example of the Levitical priesthood, which foreshadowed and prefigured the ministry of our Lord in heaven. Leviticus 16; Hebrews 8:4, 5; 9:6,7;etc.

III. That the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments were given by inspiration of God, contain a full revelation of his will to man, and are the only infallible rule of faith and practice.

IV. That baptism is an ordinance of the Christian church, to follow faith and repentance, an ordinance by which we commemorate the resurrection of Christ, as by this act we show our faith in his burial and resurrection, and, through that, of the resurrection of all the saints at the last day; and that no other mode fitly represents these facts than that which the Scriptures prescribe, namely, immersion. Romans 6:3-5; Colossians 2:12.

V. That the new birth comprises the entire change necessary to fit us for the kingdom of God, and consists of two parts: First, a moral change, wrought by conversion and a Christian life; second, a physical change at the second coming of Christ, whereby if dead, we are raised incorruptible, and, if living, are changed to immortality in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye. John 3:3,5 Luke 20:36.

VI. We believe that prophecy is a part of God’s revelation to man; that it is included in that scripture which is profitable for instruction (2Timothy 3:16); that it is designed for us and our children (Deuteronomy 29:29); that so far from being enshrouded in impenetrable mystery, it is that which especially constitutes the word of God a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalms 119:105; 2Peter 1:19); that a blessing is pronounced upon those who study it (Revelation 1:1-3); and that, consequently, it is to be understood by the people of God, sufficiently to show them their position in the world’s history, and the special duties required at their hands.

VII. That the world’s history from specified dates in the past, the rise and fall of empires, and the chronological succession of events down to the setting up of God’s everlasting kingdom, are outlined in numerous great chains of prophecy; and that these prophecies are now all fulfilled except the closing scenes.

VIII. That the doctrine of the world’s conversion and temporal millennium is a fable of these last days, calculated to lull men into a state of carnal security, and cause them to be overtaken by the great day of the Lord as by a thief in the night; that the second coming of Christ is to precede, not to follow the millennium; for until the Lord appears, the papal power, with all its abominations is to continue, the wheat and tares grow together, and evil men and seducers wax worse and worse, as the word of God declares.

IX. That the mistake of Adventists in 1844 pertained to the nature of the event then to transpire, not to the time; that no prophetic period is given to reach to the second advent, but that the longest one, the two thousand and three days of Daniel 8:14, terminated in that year, and brought us to an event called the cleansing of the sanctuary.

X. That the sanctuary of the new covenant is the tabernacle of God in heaven, of which Paul speaks in Hebrews 8, and onward, of which our Lord, as great High Priest, is minister; that this sanctuary is the antitype of the Mosaic tabernacle, and that the priestly work of our Lord, connected therewith, is the antitype of the work of the Jewish priest of the former dispensation (Hebrew 8:1-5, etc.); that this is the sanctuary to be cleansed at the end of the 2300 days; what is termed its cleansing being in this case, as in the type, simply the entrance of the high priest into the most holy place, to finish the round of service connected therewith, by blotting out and removing from the sanctuary the sins which had been transferred to it by means of the ministration in the first apartment (Hebrew 9:22,23); and that this work, in the antitype, commencing 1844, occupies a brief but indefinite space, at the conclusion of which the work of mercy for the world is finished.

XI. That God’s moral requirements are the same upon all men in all dispensations; that these are summarily contained in the commandments spoken by Jehovah from Sinai, engraved on the tables of stone, and deposited in the ark, which was in consequence called the “ark of the covenant,” or testament (Numbers 10:33; Hebrews 9:4, etc.); for under the sounding of the seventh trumpet we are told that “the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of His testament" (Revelation 11:19).

XII. That the fourth commandment of this law requires that we devote the seventh day of each week, commonly called Saturday, to abstain from our own labor, and to the performance of sacred and religious duties; that this is the only weekly Sabbath known to the Bible, being the day that was set apart before paradise was lost (Genesis 2:2,3), and which will be observed in Paradise restored (Isaiah 66:22,23); that the facts upon which the Sabbath institution is based confine it to the seventh day, as they are not true of any other day; and that the terms Jewish Sabbath and Christian Sabbath, as applied to the weekly rest day, are names of human invention, un-Scriptural in fact, and false in meaning.

XIII. That, as the man of sin, the papacy has thought to change times and laws (the laws of God, Daniel 7:25), and has misled almost all Christendom in regard to the fourth commandment; we find a prophecy of a reform in this respect to be wrought among believers just before the coming of Christ (Isaiah 56:1,2; 1Peter 1:5; Revelation 14:12, etc.).

XIV. That, as the natural or carnal heart is at enmity with God and His law, this enmity can be subdued only by a radical transformation of the affections, the exchange of unholy for holy principles; that this transformation follows repentance and faith, is the special work of the Holy Spirit, and constitutes regeneration or conversion.

XV. That, as all have violated the law of God, and cannot of themselves render obedience to His just requirements, we are dependent on Christ, first for justification from our past offenses, and, secondly, for grace whereby to render acceptable obedience to his holy law in time to come.

XVI. That the Spirit of God was promised to manifest itself in the church through certain gifts, enumerated especially in 1Corinthians 12 and Ephesians 4; that these gifts are not designed to supersede,or take the place of the Bible which is sufficient to make us wise unto salvation, any more than the Bible can take the place of the Holy Spirit; that in specifying the various channels of its operation, that Spirit has simply made provision for its own existence and presence with the people of God to the end of time, to lead to an understanding of that word which it had inspired, to convince of sin, and work a transformation in the heart and life; and that those who deny to the Spirit its place an operation do plainly deny that part of the Bible which assigns to it this work and position.

XVII. That God, in accordance with His uniform dealings with the race, sends forth a proclamation of the approach of the second advent of Christ; that this work is symbolized by the three messages of Revelation 14, the last one bringing to view the work of reform on the law of God, that His people may acquire a complete readiness for that event.

XVIII. That the time of the cleansing of the sanctuary (see proposition 10), synchronizing with the time of the proclamation of the third message, is a time of investigative judgment, first, with reference to the dead, and, at the close of probation, with reference to the living, to determine who of the myriads now sleeping in the dust of the earth are worthy of a part in the first resurrection, and who of its living multitudes are worthy of translation—points which must be determined before the Lord appears.

XIX. That the grave, whither we all tend, expressed by the Hebrew sheol and the Greek hades, is a place of darkness in which there is no work, device, wisdom, or knowledge. Ecclesiastes 9:10

XX. That the state to which we are reduced by death is one silence, inactivity and entire unconsciousness. Psalms 146:4; Ecclesiastes 9:5,6; Daniel 12:2;etc.

XXI. That out of this prison house of the grave mankind are to be brought by a bodily resurrection; the righteous having part in the first resurrection, which takes place at the second advent of Christ; the wicked, in the second resurrection, which takes place a thousand years thereafter. Revelation 20:4-6.

XXII. That at the last trump, the living righteous are to be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, and with the resurrected righteous are to be caught up to meet the Lord in the air, so forever to be with the Lord.

XXIII. That these immortalized ones are then taken to heaven, to the New Jerusalem, the Father’s house in which there are many mansions (John 14:1-3), where they reign with Christ a thousand years, judging the world and fallen angels that is, apportioning the punishment to be executed upon them at the close of the one thousand years (Revelation 20:4; 1Corinthians 6:2,3); that during this time the earth lies in a desolate and chaotic condition (Jeremiah 4:20-27), described, as in the beginning, by the Greek term abussos, bottomless pit (Septuagint of Genesis 1:2), and that here Satan is confined during the thousand years (Revelation 20:1,2), and here finally destroyed (Revelation 20:10; Malachi 4:1); the theater of the ruin he has wrought in the universe, being appropriately made for a time his gloomy prison house, and then the place of his final execution.

XIV. That at the end of the thousand years, the Lord descends with his people and the New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:2), the wicked dead are raised and come up upon the surface of the yet unrenewed earth, and gather about the city, the camp of the saints (Revelation 20:9); and fire comes down from God out of heaven, and devours them. They are then consumed root and branch (Malachi 4:1), becoming as though they had not been (Obadiah 15, 16). In this everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord (2Thessalonians 1:9), the wicked meet the everlasting punishment threatened against them (Matthew 25:46). This is the perdition of ungodly men, the fire which consumes them being the fire for which “the heavens and the earth, which are now,” are kept in store, which shall melt even the elements with its intensity, and purge the earth from the deepest stains of the curse of sin. 2Peter 3:7-12.

XXV. That a new heaven and earth shall spring by the power of God from the ashes of the old, to be, with the New Jerusalem for its metropolis and capital, the eternal inheritance of the saints, the place where the righteous shall evermore dwell. 2Peter 3:13; Psalms 37:11,29; Matthew 5:5
